Miyazaki is effing overrated. It's from his other dudes films from Ghibli that makes deep impact for me. For Miyazaki, he has his quirks for sure but he's more of overrated douchebag of a celebrity in Ghibli.
ОтветитьHowls Moving Castle was a great movie
ОтветитьHis films are so unique and beautiful in multiple ways, children should watch them!
ОтветитьSo? Creating a masterpiece is incredibly hard work. A large degree of self-sacrifice is a given when creating a masterpiece. These people knew what they were signing up for, they knew it wasn't gonna be a walk in the park. And the door is always there if you decide it's too much. Also Japanese culture is a lot different than ours, this kind of thing wouldn't really be seen as tabuu there.
Great video, just disagree that's it's such a huge problem
If anything, let his legacy be that he inspired people to make art that went against trends and the cynicism of the age, and were just plain beautiful and hopeful.
ОтветитьPonyo was my first Ghibli film, which is probably for the best because it’s one of the more child-like, easy to follow and enjoy, etc.. yet I still can’t swim. Despite that I’m pretty good at watching movies still.
ОтветитьHe's a crap father though
Remember that he never supported his son's movies
i love miyazaki movies/Ghibli almost all equally (Tales From Earthsea is pretty bad, though it has lovable moments) a couple are too long like Pom Poko, and then there is My Neighbor Totoro, which is lovely but a bit too uneventful. Though i still love both of those movies. i Appreciate all of them. (except the Earwig and the Witch movie)
oh and i really enjoyed Mary and the Witch's Flower which i think wasn't Ghibli nor Miyazaki but it had the same feel and aesthetic so i think they could do just fine.
Very well done! Loved hearing your thoughts and analysis
Ответить👍
ОтветитьHey! It's not my favorite of his, but I love Porco Rosso, i find it truly heartwarming, I love every single detail about it, and I really don't understand how no one likes it..
Ответитьthe i is silent in Ahitaka
ОтветитьWhat does an american adaptation have to do with a discussion of a Japanese film studio?
Ответить"The future is clear. It's going to fall apart."
ОтветитьMiyazaki’s success and problem is Miyazaki. I don’t think he was ever interested in becoming a brand like Walt Disney made himself into. Seems like each project takes a lot out of him, maybe he doesn’t want the pain of going through the projects but doesn’t want the pain of his own realized vision being executed improperly.
ОтветитьI honestly think it would almost be better if a company died with the creator, I wish Disney Co. ended with his death and that animators just created their own companies afterward.
ОтветитьU r the problem
ОтветитьWhat worries me is not when is miyazaki actually going to stop making films, but if studio ghibli will become just another money-making machine that runs on bad sequels and references, like you commented at the end of the video.
ОтветитьThis man has no taste saying these shit opinions about castle of cagliostro
Ответитьahayao mziai ayski shodu lgo ot hel hes an infp a peacbudiler!!!! ima n intj adn netj i fvor war and greed and machiavelli.
Ответитьenjoyed this summary
ОтветитьWhat a fuckin' sadboy
ОтветитьHe's also an inattentive cook.
ОтветитьProbably my least favourite highly praised director in the world
ОтветитьAnne of Green Garbles?
ОтветитьWhat I find the most beautiful about Miyazaki’s films is that, as you say, they all have a charm to them, and all some sort of sweet nostalgic feel. Everyone I ask has a different favourite movie that touches them personally - for you Porco Rosso, for me Howl’s Moving Castle, for my friend Ponyo etc. No matter who you are, an element of one of his films will connect with you. I find that really special.
ОтветитьFor the record, he never said that "anime was a mistake" Thing, it's well known to be a myth.
Ответитьhis whole way of doing towards people was a mistake, i have seen plenty of dick moves he had absolutely no right nor necessity to do so, he demeans people saying simple lines and walked out of his own sons first premier of a movie, fucking shame
Ответитьanne of green GARBLES?
ОтветитьGhibli are greats among the industry but, I literally watched it once and thats it.
ОтветитьThe miyazaki problem. His games are too hard.
Ответить💜
ОтветитьI'm happy to live in a era that I can watch his feat, it's just that simple
ОтветитьWhat a pointless fucking video. It was literally just “he made this then he made that”.
ОтветитьI have Chihiro riding Haku as a dragon tattooed across my chest. Spirited Away is my favorite film ever.
ОтветитьI also think that Miyazaki movies are stunningly beautiful because they are so detailed and the characters are always strong and independent. BUT plotwise, they are kind of a mess. I mean, in Howl's and Princess Monoke the story is propelled forward by this big conflicts that are berely explained and get a rushed resolution. This seems like a recurring problem, many times events just happen and rather than try to explain why the director asks you to go with the flow and enjoy the ride. Miyazaki is an animator who became a director but always carried an animator's mindset since he cares more about the vibe than the story.
ОтветитьThis man is just too good to stay retired
ОтветитьTop drawer.
ОтветитьI kind of understand, why he said all of that, when i see his work, it is amaizing, a great work, but rigth now, his words are so true, anime, become mainstream, and now mediocrati comes, since a while now, stupid anime is elevated, Miyazaki is rigth when i watch his work Nausica the valley of wind was amaizing a dream, the fantasy journey of Leda, Vision of Escaflowne, Magick knigth Rayearth, anime was amaizing, meanwhile, all of that as it become mainstream, now, well, the numbers of isekai, even now watching the torrent of isekai, shonen is sad.
But when i watch a clip, when he was taking out the trash, a man, that created some of the best works in the anime industry, is relativly a poor man, and they got the gut to ask, him, what he think of demon slayer, i am sorry but for me is the most generic, boring, formulaic anime there is, and yet people applaud like seals
I don't think Miyazaki would talk bad about other producers that makes high-quality animation with artful inspiration and heart-touching or "wonder-inducing" stories and art.
I think he'd actually be happy to see the animation industry have more of these instead of the mind-hive pleasing trash that is massively produced and he would actually praise the good artists from doing their best and actually raise the standards of japanese animation.
I prefer “Hidetaka Miyazaki” to Hayao, these days.
Also, I’m curious if Hayao Miyazaki is “aware” that his own country ALSO had a perversion with Human Experimentaion?
He talks big when concerning “America” being violent, but fact states Japan having Research-Toture-Killed Chinese “Humans” with its “Unit 731” (and then some).
Also, he is owned by Disney.
He lives in a Fictitious Fantasy world of his own making.
Same! Porco Rosso is my favorite Ghibli film
Ответитьall i want is a Nausicaä sequel, it would be a nice way to end it, end with the same character that it started with.
ОтветитьDisney was the visionary, and when they lost him in 1966 you can see a clear shift in the direction of the company. Especially after 2009, the company itself is more about the monopoly rather than making the happiest place on earth...
ОтветитьThat feeling when the stories end and you realized it will never happen to you or even in real life.
Ответитьthis is one of the best videos on the internet,
i rewatch this video alot thank you.
Thank you Mr. Miyazaki and friends for being so talented and brilliant in what you all do with love for the Art. Much appreciated. It always have been a team effort.
We have prepared the new generation with magical tools for creating and distributing their Art through the Meta-verse/Omni-verse. The way we can create emulation of traditional Art is improving. The value of traditional art like animation is still high - but perhaps more rare these days. That in turn increases the value of said physical Artworks. Never give up your dreams. Show your talent and opportunity might find you.
