Poor Warren wasn't paid for winning the title if we can still call it a world title. BDO stubbornness to change in 1993 and keep all the top players was the worst decision ever. They thought no one will do well without the BDO and blackmailed the players and now look.

He earned that £40 prize money.

Congratulations Wayne ! Nothing personal, but I wanted Wayne to win from the start along with Wolfie or 2 Hotty. I don't think he did himself justice in the Grand Slam, I think this match was closer than the final scoreline. I hope he gets another chance this at the Grand Slam and a chance to defend his title next year. It could be that a Welsh Player (Rees) won the first championship and Wayne the last. I hope the BDO keeps going, it is what it is. The scoring and finishing is not at PDC level, but the atmosphere at Lakeside was always fantastic - I was stubborn and didn't go to the Millennium Dome I guess in protest at Lakeside - It was good to see the venue filling up towards the end

No doubt that the PDC is by fR the superior competition, however there is hope for the BDO if they do it right. Move it back to the Lakeside, like Wolfe said, move the tournament to easter. Look for more televised events, pdc has greater quality undoubtable however for grass roots darts the BDO is needed. Born in 91 I grew up with the bdo and it'll be shame to see them shit up shop
