Odalia is disgusting. Sometimes makes me think why Amity and Hunter had so much conflict at the beginning considering they had manipulating caretakers they were attempting to break free from at the time- maybe the reason why Amity submitted to Hunter and gave him the key at Eclipse Lake was because she was thinking of how horrible the weight on your shoulders might feel, (as Hunter was explaining) because she'd had so many issues with her mom she understood the disappointment that Belos would have in Hunter if he came back empty handed. I'm surprised the two aren't better friends because even though Hunter's situation was vastly worse than Amity's, they still had pressure and felt as though they had to reward their caretakers every time no matter what.

I guess I can understand why person think Camilia is a bad parent but actually she is an AMAZING parent bc actually Camilla never waned luz to be “normal” she just wanted luz to have friends

I think especially with the later implications, Alador was modtly just trying to placate Odalia by using her own wants and logic to make her stand down. He already showed he didnt approve of Odalia going too far, it doesnt make him a good dad, but it does show he wanted to protect the kids

There's also a disturbing theory that Odalia treated Amity like a miniature version of herself and was the golden child. Probably why the twins treated Amity badly and caused a rift between them.

I see Odalia as a foil to Camila.
One is caring, loving, big hearted, selfless, motherly, brave and heroic.
The other is uncaring, unsympathetic, selfish, entitled, childish, egotisticial and iredeemable.

Usually, when we see a bad parent in a cartoon, that parent is later shown to have a softer side to them or at least an indication that they deep down they love their kids. But not Odalia. In Watching and Dreaming, we can see Amity reuniting with her father and Odalia just stands there, scowling at them. She doesn't even bother to see if her daughter is alright after everything that just happened. We also don't see her at all in the epilogue. This pretty much shows that Odalia never cared about, or even loved her children, and only saw them as employees.

Isn't Odalia part of the oracle coven? She wouldn't have needed Belos to tell her anything, she could've just scryed.

Dana did a pretty good job at shutting down the assumptions that Camilla was a bad mom with “Thanks to Them”.

Personally I saw Alador as someone who is overworked to the point he is sleep deprived all the time. As someone going though colege and have to pull all nighters all the time I know how that can mess with your head. I mean right now I have been up for 2 days trying to get all my work done. I also feel like Alador is someone that knows he is unhappy where he is at in life but refuses to see it because of happy memorys. So I can see him telling his wife that his amity is geting stronger to help calm her down.

On regards to the amity flashback with her parents, with how Alador was written later the writers and show runner 100% retconned Alador

I love your videos KittyMonk but I really don’t like how in the end Alador is essentially given a free pass for his role in all this just cos he was all “you’re selling our lethal weapons to actual bad guys?!” Fact is he was Odalia’s co-conspirator in all her misdeeds, starting with her forcing Amity to drop Willow as a friend, because if Amity’s memory is accurate then he’s just as classist as his wife! So he and his creepy Palisman (who I swore was him in an experiment gone wrong) go both go kick rocks with Odalia 😤😤😤

Of course we know now that Camilla WASN’T a bad mom. She just wanted to keep her daughter safe from bullies like the ones she dealt with for being a Cosmic Frontier nerd.

I love how the specials meme on Odalia. First, she gets forced to clean up after the Collector. Then, Belos shows up in his terrifying goop monster form saying "oh yes, I think you'll be quite useful" and she really considers it, only to find out he was talking about Raine. And then she shows up sulking at the end, and Tibbles gets an invite to the King-ceanera over her. Like, damn.

I'm honestly wondering if I'm the only person that caught the resentment in Alador's eyes whenever he looked at Odalia. There was definately nore going on behind the scenes between the two of them. Alador barely looks at Odalia, and when he does, his expression says he'd rather be anywhere else than next to her. Most prominently (aside from King's tide) when she crushed the Butterfly thing he was trying to study, then grabbed him and reached in to the clothes. To me, the look read something like "I hate you" Maybe if we had a whole season three, or even a season four, we could have seen more in to the dynamic and history of Alador and Odalia.

Somebody actually pointed this out elsewhere, but something to think about that just shows how awful Odalia really is:
She was aware of the Day of Unity and Emperor Belos's plan, yet continued to keep trying to sign Amity up for Coven Tryouts.

Odalia is not only a bad mother to Amity and the twins, she's also a bad wife to Alador, and the worst person on the Boiling Isles, right up there with Belos. The fact that Oldalia remained loyal to Belos, despite knowing Belos' plan to commit mass genocide, she continues to collaborate, thinking she would be exempted and rewarded, well lady, you cannot have a hierarchy without people, but you will be the richest and evilest person in the graveyard.

Its pretty obvious that the dad is just an accessory for the family.
