Can i pair rtx 4060 with ryzen 5 3500x cpu?

right knowledgeable boys and girls, I need a new card for my daughter and her photography and video editing, 3060 and 4060 are now the same price... What do i buy her please? I'm don't know anything about graphics cards and it's a minefield reading if you're not into it... I'm hoping ask the audience will work...

I'm really only getting a 4060 as the hdmi port on my 3060 was slightly damaged. There I technically get to keep both cards as the 4060 will be the backup.

This 4.0 x 8 interface is starting to annoy me as there are a likley alot of people still using 3.0 systems which is where this is likley to cause the most problems abd if we gonna be totally hounest about it the likley hood that anyone buying the 8GB model is going to be on a 3.0 system. I also never use DLSS especially on 1080p is a miiiistake

I bought one.
It was in my budget and the power consumption was appealing to me.
Personally I don't game a lot but I use software for denoising RAW photos which is relatively GPU intensive. I also recently bought a new camera with a much higher resolution.
My previous 1660Ti would take about 50 seconds per image. In a worst case scenario, say a shoot after which I keep around 1000 images, processing all these shots would take about 13 *hours*. The 4060 would need about 3 to 4 hours for the same workload. While using less power than a 1660Ti. Saving me both time and money.
A 3070 would probably have been in the same price range, especially a used one, but it would have used more power. So I would have needed a new PSU as well and my PC would go beyond using 500 watts on full load. Which I simply don't *want*.
It's my goal to have a PC that runs very efficiently. The 4060 fullfilled that role for me.

If nvidia repeats what they did for the 2000 series and ups the clocks and shifts each gpu down 1 sku then a 4000 super series actually could be pretty good (4060 OC = 4050 Super, 4060 Ti OC = 4060 Super, etc)

I have a 3060 and diablo 4 already is using between 7.5gb-8.5gb vram at 1080p. Dont think people ahould be getting the 4060 of they hope to keep it for a while and want good texture settings.

Cool, but in our stores the RX 6700 XT costs almost $100 more than the RTX 4060.

shut up the 4060 is awesome. only uses 115watts. and i'm getting twice the fps as the 2060. so YES there was a market for this card.
also only paid 300 bucks for it. wich i get back in reduced power costs in less then a year. (yes electricity is expensive here)

and yes it's lower then the 3060. it also uses half the amount of power.

I just bought RTX 4060, but I'm not mad, since my last card was GTX 1050, so that's definitely an improvement! I hope it'll perform well enough for me

im so mad cuz i just bought the 4060 as an upgrade from the 1650 super. I mostly bought it because it was the cheapest newest gen, and because i thought that it would be great performance since its the newest gen card. i got real dissapointed when seeing reviews of it and trying rdr2 on max settings. now im thinking of saving up money for the 4070.

Now… why would I buy a 4060 and not turn Ray tracing and DLSS 3 , 2 on?? If I buy a 4060 is because I want to use DLSS and Ray tracing in every game that features it… That’s how Nvidia wants you to play… it is not a bad product you just have to know what do you want. That’s it.

If NVIDIA keeps this up it will destroy the industry. How is a spotty 13 year old supposed to build/buy himself a gaming pc for his hard earned pocket money when a GPU alone is going to set him back £800. A mediocre performing machine is costing you about £1200. If the buy in price for PC gaming is too high the industry will be stagnant and wont grow, younguns' will just stick with x-box and playstation that has a much lower bar to access.

The 4060 is right now actually one of the best value for money cards out there interms of price to performance. I think its near 1st place on userbenchmark.

As an owner of the 3060ti.. I'm all smiles now and I get to keep my card for a few more years..

I get the anger from people who just want raw performance, but I think this isn't just about supporting Bitcoin miners or whatever you mentioned.
I think this is actually the long-term future whether you like it or not, because the main concerns moving forward in the realm of computing won't be solved by just guzzling more power to get more performance.
The main bottlenecks for advancement in computer tech now materially and socially are energy efficiency, heat production, and the fact that we've hit the limit for miniaturization of transistors without switching to non-electron computing (which also has considerations that bleed into the other issues).

While the 4060 and DLSS+frame gen might not be super appealing to people right now who just want raw power, this is clearly (at least in my opinion) about experimenting to find ways to move forward in a responsible way while looking at long-term goals.

I don't think it's the correct take to be so dismissive about these issues.

Does it lag you the 4060 Laptop or Desktop after some hours of playing?? (Cuts frames/ms every seconds regardless of being at 59fps and about 86C°) I think it may be due to the Memory bus cuts, bottleneck, so the graph maybe worthless, and probably more VRam wouldn't solve this, maybe a better CPU 😢 garbage 😂 i'm glad i swap it on time to a 3070ti.

i just went from a 1650 super to the 4060 and im not pc tech smart it really sold me on what it can do but i didnt realize it wasnt doing anything new lol. its kinda one of those things where it does what i want so is it bad? from what you guys said though i over paid
