two questions, in the first example where the vocal goes to the output and to a bus then to the output, my main output will have two copies of the vocals, a dry one and a wet one from the bus? Second, if I only plan on one vocal track or one lead guitar track then I do not need a bus? Last how do I see all the busses in the mixer on Logic?
ОтветитьCan you share more about how to route a backing tracks out to the main mixer, while listening to a click track in the in-ear monitor only? I'm not sure how to create the bus on the click track for me only to hear.. Thanks so much
ОтветитьSo simple yet efficent way to explain those stuff ,Keep on coming!
ОтветитьI'm a show me person so the fist concept was not helpful BUT I did test three tracks and created an FX bus successfully. I also got the understanding of having multiple buses on each channel and did that on my vocals for a delay FX. I'm going to work with these for now before going into parallel busses. I need a tons of processing reduction so hopefully this will eliminate a ton of buffering and latency. I'm going to see if I can reduce my current buffer to a lower one and see what happens. Thanks for the help.
ОтветитьThanks for the introduction!
ОтветитьIf I have a M1 Pro do I have to use Buses? My Mac is very powerful.
ОтветитьI Love to send My vocals, kicks, and snares to output buses. it makes them poke through the Mix a LOT better.
ОтветитьGreat video! Just so I can understand correctly why you'd send a bus through to another bus, instead of using the first/original bus for all the effects. So you're sending Bus 32 to Bus 4 and 1 (for which ever effects they represent) to make it easier for your PC to process information, instead of just putting all effects, in this case for vocals, on one Bus? Is this so, for example, you don't have to have an individual Delay plugin for all your tracks - whether it be vocals, guitar, drums etc? In other words, you have the same delay plugin which you can manipulate individually for ALL your vocal tracks and manipulate differently for ALL your drum tracks? If so, that's Brilliant! But the catch would be, that I may use vastly different delay presets or sounds for vocals, drums, guitar, piano and bass for example. Then I wouldn't want to use the same delay plugin for my vocals and drums.
ОтветитьLove your videos. You explain everything really well. And the last one with the ten tips was FANTASTIC.
ОтветитьCan you do a video for studio one 5 or 6 pls🙏
ОтветитьExcellent video! You demystified, the topic. I definitely subscribed, and will be visiting often thank you!
Ответитьcool bro
ОтветитьGreat informative video thank you! I have only just started to look into how to use buses and after watching this video I had a go. It worked fine with reverb but when I try and use pitch correction it sounds like 2 voices unless I select no output. Could anyone please explain what I'm doing wrong? Would really appreciate it!
ОтветитьThankyou for this video!!!! You're a great teacher.
ОтветитьHey Nathan…. My Logic has confused me… i open new project and it doesn’t receive signal from interface vocal or guitar, yet i can open an old project and delete tracks and it is receiving this way … its driving me nuts…any ideas? Cheers!
Ответитьis it better if a buss is in stereo, sonic wise?
ОтветитьHi Nathan . Im new on the block but a little old in the tooth. Did my time on the old analogue recorders years ago and thought I'd try my hand at recording my own songs again on Logic Pro x. I can generally play all my own instruments to a degree as well as lead and harmony vocals etc. at this point I'm studying one element at a time to get my head around it all and found your instruction delved into the heart of matter as if I knew bugger all about recording (i'm Aussie 👍😎) and that has been excellent. I will look for your thoughts on compressors etc. Hope you are well. and Thank you. Cheers Pete
Ответитьyou're so bad to explain!!!! so many repeat!!!!!!
ОтветитьBro, you rock. Thanks man. And I love your track~
ОтветитьWhen you said it was a triangle it made me think that now I have the signal splitting itself into 2 going two directions , one straight to the output and the 2nd one also going to the output but with a bus in between 🤷🏽♂️ i thought it was just one signal not a triangle
Ответить"unity" means the number 1 not 0
ОтветитьTy
Ответить"If you're not using buses in your production . . . "
Buses are a relic of the past, they're from a time when a studio might only have a couple of decent reverbs, and a few other effects, so it was the best approach to get the most out of the limited amount of outboard gear . . . but these days, when you can instantiate dozens reverbs if you want, along with dozens of other effects, and your computer will happily handle it all, buses are not necessary . . . sure use them if it suits your workflow, but this idea that they are essential is nonsense, I only really use inserts these days, and I've seen plenty of pros working with 100% track inserts.
great video, love the examples 💯
Ответитьthis was amazingly helpful...thank you!!
ОтветитьI've been saying this since I started studying my favorite albums; the true geniuses and heroes of the music we all love are the engineers behind it. GREAT video. The science behind music and audio is less intuitive for me than learning the language of music and playing instruments. In short, this sh*t is crazy. haha I just hope I can get at least one piece near completed before it's too late. Thanks, man!
ОтветитьI had no idea Prince Harry was this good with music production!
Ответитьif you hold "option" and then click the circle volume of the bus this will go at 0 for default
ОтветитьShould my vocal buses be in Mono or Stereo ? 🤔
ОтветитьCan you pin buses to regions so you only add the effect at certain points of your track? Super new to mixing but been using Logic (like a moron) for a while
ОтветитьI stop using mail app on mac because it barges in, and Apple provides no way to fix it. if you can find out how to fix it, it'll be a great tutorial to share.
Ответить🤯
ОтветитьWTF bro ? I wanted to watch entire video but when you tried to deceive me by "you need to watch till end because...." and with this 2 minutes likes and subs begging I must pass and say goodbye. Im so tired of this s** on every single channel
ОтветитьSo Say I'm writing a Modern metal song. 4 guitar Tracks( Using Amp Sim plugins) Midi bass and Midi drums. Do I send everything to a bus????
ОтветитьHelpful brother only getting it now
ОтветитьA bus in another bus... Busception 🤯
ОтветитьThat was super straighforward and helpful. Thank you!
ОтветитьThe only thing I hate about bussing are the inevitable phase issues you get when using certain plugins.
ОтветитьYou seriously have improved my art so much I swear if I make it some day, you were my guide to success
ОтветитьI still don't get it. Thanks for the video though. I'm going to have to watch multiple videos in this bus topic.
ОтветитьThank you for this!!! You explained it perfectly!!!
ОтветитьThank you for making these vids!
ОтветитьThe content was ok but the constant begging for subscribers was a bit pathetic. Once is enough and preferably at the end of the video, once you have shown your value, not before even teaching anything. Come on, man! 😜✌️
Ответитьokay, this is great teaching
ОтветитьThank you for sharing.
I have a question about in what scenario will we send to bus or output directly to bus?
And if we send to the bus, as you mentioned, we create a duplicate on bus, and both with original would be send to stereo output, would the volume also be louder?
Since there's the original and a duplicated bus one.
Thanks in advance.
