This movie helps me when I watch it, I am so connected to the characters that it feels like I have friends who can relate to my struggles and understand
ОтветитьI watched this movie for the first time a week ago. I’ve watched it 3 more times since then.
ОтветитьWhy is it always British people who have the best American accents? 😂
ОтветитьI just love that the director is the same guy who wrote the original book
ОтветитьCharlie's "We are infinite" speech at the end gets me everytime, cuz it's so damn true 😢
ОтветитьOne of my rubrics for people to follow who react to films is how they react to this movie, so you've got a new subscriber here. Thanks for doing this important film justice, and thank you for not being afraid to show emotion. I appreciate it when guys can do that; can show us a heartfelt & meaningful response. It's both courageous and necessary. Kudos.
ОтветитьThis movie came out when I was 21 and I skipped it… I’m now 31 and I guess that’s an age where many tend to look back on their lives and reevaluate how they got to where they are. I took some personality tests and read articles about books and movies I should read and view, and this one kept coming up and it caught my attention
Oh my gosh… I was in love. I related so hard to Charlie and I felt so much like he was teenage me down to the bone. Never have I had an e experience where I actually wanted to hug a fictional character, but oh my gosh I just loved this guy
I also want to point out that I’ve been familiar with Logan Lerman for years, but I’ve never realized what an outrageously talented actor he is. He made Charlie’s breakdown towards the end so heartbreaking I actually had you look for clips of other interviews and performances to remind myself that he was just acting and he was okay. He needs to be given more recognition
Maybe stop talking and enjoy the movie. We don’t need a quip every 2 seconds.
ОтветитьI loved the book and the movie is just amazing. It gets me every time.
ОтветитьIf that btch would have stfu then she wouldnt get hit. If i would talk like that to another mans im gonna get knocked out too. Shawty shouldnt run her mouth like that and disrespecting a mans value never gonna end up good. people get killed by doing shit like that
ОтветитьBefore I watched this literally 18 minutes I cried my eyes out
ОтветитьAh 2012, when everyone still loved Ezra
ОтветитьEzra? Man this video didn't age well
ОтветитьIt’s always the English teacher
ОтветитьWhen I got sent to the hospital for mental health purposes, I asked for only one thing: to take this book with me. I was denied because my mom thought it glorified self harm and abuse. But in reality, it showed me that I’m not alone.
ОтветитьI swear this film broke me like it's so sad and beautiful and the way both Patrick and Charlie are so relatable like - this film is the only film that's ever really had such a huge emotional impact on me.
ОтветитьI just want to say thank you for this video. Without getting into too much detail, my best friend and I used to watch this movie together when we were younger and I lost him to s*icide shortly after our last time watching it so I haven’t been able to bring myself to watch this movie since. But your video gave me a way to dip my toe and feel safe watching because I had your commentary ❤️ thank you.
ОтветитьIt really is fantastic
Ответитьthe bully scenes in this movie reminds of when I was a freshman and a senior stole my change from the vending machine. like lol? why would u do that?
ОтветитьThe story is set in the 90’s if that helps you understand the atmosphere a little more :)
Ответитьthe movie is amazing but id say the book is better
Ответить"Touch my friends again and I'll blind you."
Me: *gets flashbacks to the time I threw a kid on the ground for making my baby brother cry, and the time I jumped on a grown man's back and started choking the hell out of him for bullying my other little brother*
I've been in an abusive relationship and this movie does a great job of showing how that happens and how common it is.
ОтветитьThe book is even better
ОтветитьHaving been in musical theater I would get so many people who thought that I was gay
ОтветитьI did musical theater during high school
ОтветитьPaul Rudd as the English teacher was the best. Ezra Miller played Patrick which is also my first name
ОтветитьThis movie feels like a better version of Dear Evan Hansen. I think it's obvious who Connor is.
ОтветитьSo I saw this movie when it was first out when I was 16 I cried uncontrollably at the bit with the aunt and didn’t know why — like hysterical rocking tears with no understandings why? 8 years later after I’d come off heavy medication for my disabilitythat had fogged my brain I realised the same happened with a female school worker for years and I had blocked it out — I now watch this movie to remember that it’s better to know what I know now than think about not understanding why I was so upset as a teenager x
Ответитьim not crying u are
ОтветитьI was fairly popular in school. I was in drama and did musical theater
ОтветитьWhen Emma Watson finished with playing Hermoine Granger in the Harry Potter movies she immediately had her cut and put on an American accent for this movie
ОтветитьI'm not crying watching a video of someone watching this movie. You're crying.
ОтветитьThis was a really good movie, and very sweet, but the idea that these cool teenagers wouldn't know the song "Heroes" by David Bowie is just ever so slightly ridiculous.
ОтветитьWe hate ponytail Derek he is the worst
ОтветитьMan I was crushed by this film! I read the book and its the only adaptation that feels the same. "We accept the love we think we deserve" gets me every time!
ОтветитьIf my teacher was paul rudd id never skip a class
ОтветитьGREG THE EGG WAS IN THIS MOVIE !!
ОтветитьThe final few minutes of this movie almost made me cry.
ОтветитьI discovered this book when I was in high school at the beginning of my struggles with mental illness and PTSD. It pretty much became a part of my heart. I wrote to the author, Stephen Chbosky, and told him how important his work was to me and how brilliant I thought the book was. I don't remember exactly what I said, but I must've mentioned a few details about my own struggles, because a couple years later I got a letter from him! I was in college, so technically my mom got the letter. Anyway, it was really neat to have that experience with someone who created something that touched my life so much. I was thrilled when they finally made a movie so many years later.
ОтветитьThe timing of David Bowie's Heroes in the bridge scene was so goddam awesome and always made me cry
ОтветитьDon't use Ponyboy as in insult that's the name of my favorite characters from the outsiders
Ответить"I'm not gonna make it through this movie without crying, huh"
Nope
Hey I would just like to say that this is set 1991-1992. So it’s not in 2012 as you thought, you can see it in the mix tapes and phones.
ОтветитьYou kept referencing dps, which is one of my fave films as well, and the other day I found out that mr Anderson (Paul Rudd) is literally meant to be Todd!!
Ответить
