It hurts me to see Clark so in on government & corporate propaganda. As if handing over you’re ability to to make payments or prove your identity to Google (aka Alphabet) is a good idea.

You didn’t mention wether debit cards are secure on the digital wallet.

Bad advide. Making charge backs on Google pay is a fucking pain. That's insecure.

In Philippines they still don't know Google Pay but is working in 90% terminals there

What I don't like about Samsung Pay is, I can't use my American Express. Another thing is I can't use at Academy or Sportsman's Warehouse.

Can you add Transit Cards for buses n subways on a Samsung pay app, especially if you have a Galaxy S20 with Magnetic reader?

Not sure a wallet would help me, my finances are pretty simple, I don't buy much crap, but Wells Fargo is pushing it & did not know what it was.

Do not wish to pay with it but store tickets issued by Ticketmaster on it . Cannot do it because no instructions so very worried by the payment method.

I've tried this and it doesn't work. For starters most businesses don't accept Google pay because it costs them money so your forced to use a physical visa debit card same with self filling petrol stations. Also, your driving license is going to be issue too when you get pulled over. Digital licenses and passports are not wide stream yet (probably never will be) only 2 places do this in the world. One state in the United States and there other in Australia. Good luck I'm very practical person.

Sorry Clark, can't agree with you on this. I don't trust the security of digital wallets or apps. When your phone battery dies, you can't use the digital wallets. I keep my credit card and cash with me.

Crazy thing is, here in California they pay $50 after being fully vaccinated. They pay it with a digital card… I added it to my wallet, and now I can’t find my money! Bad enough losing real money but now I’m losing money digitally as well 🤦🏽‍♀️ I hope I find it. Thanks for the info though👍

Agree with all good advice, I've been using them as soon as they have become available but a couple of issues I've had causes me to always carry backup cards and or Cash still. all of these things have happened to me. Power failures, both phone network, and business Card readers and phone app readers were down, had to use cash. Broken phone. i break a lot of phones or lose power to phone., Watch battery also died. , Credit card or cash was the only way to pay. Wifi vendor internet is down I always use Wi-Fi instead of cell signal inside of businesses since Cell signals are weak or jammed so try to pay without Wi-Fi or even a cell signal, had to use CC or Cash, but define you most secure is Payment app and Smartphone. Now I also carry a 1999s era Dumb Phone ($20 flip phone) as a backup device in case I need to make a phone call when smartphones break or die from overuse of apps. will add a solar cells with a charging port to my Cybertruck when it comes out.

It's not secure because its centrally controlled and if they want to delete you. Your screwed.

Looks like a oneplus 8 pro and a samsung active 2 watch... just like me! I use keyring app for my infinity cards and google pay (not android pay since it was renamed about a year ago) for payments. It's faster than even a chip card insert.

How does it work at restaurants. Do you hand the phone over with the checkbook.

I am interested in learning more. Question: What happens if your phone or watch is stolen? I don't see people entering a code or anything when using the digital wallet . Also, I use an RFID wallet to prevent people from 'grabbing' my accounts with other devices. Is the phone/watch protected from that sort of acct / ID theft?

I can see using digital wallet is a good first choice but not all payment devices accept them.

I only use digital wallets at vending machines . I like to insert my card at retailers

I have been using digital payments for a long time and have never had an issue.

What about adding and using your Debit card?

I have been going back and forth on whether or not to set up my digital wallet on my iPhone, so thanks for the info. Makes me feel a little better about it.

Two potential issues that affect digital wallets:
1) Back end digital payment servers/systems are down: Can affect you adversely if you don't have backup - but I always carry backup credit/debit cards securely on my person.
2) Scammers will pay using digital wallets and then once the transaction is completed, void the transaction. But this is true of other payment systems - but credit cards have a tracking system that can be contested.

I was slow on the uptake, too...have my CC's in iPhone Wallet and it's so convenient paying with my phone and/or Apple watch.
