Exynos 2200 - With New Xclipse GPU Based on AMD RDNA 2 (Reupload)

In the long run itl be possible for smartphones to play triple a titles on android, and some really demanding titles like star citizen, I know it sounds stupid, but technology proves me otherwise.

Now that Qualcomm has switched to tsmc's 4nm with their Gen1 plus I'm pretty sure the snapdragon will be better in all aspects.

So far its bit of a flop in the latest S22's, Snapdragon variants outperforming Exynos 2200 in every way! And those of us in the countries that only sell Exynos variant are stuck with buying a more inferior version of S22 for the same price as those who get a better phone in USA and few other places. Hopefully Exynos 2200 software optimizations will happen overtime but am not holding my breath, Samsung always had issues with optimizing their own chip for some reason, with snapdragon always performing better in their previews phones as well. And this is not even just talking about peak performance with gaming or whatever, the actual camera quality is very different as well, video camera optimization is night and day difference between snapdragon and exynos.

A bit late to the party but wanted to correct something: since Apple's A11 chip, the GPU is made by Apple they don't rely on PowerVR GPUs anymore

Garbage Samsung still is scamming customers.

This chip, in the correct setup, could compete with a Steam Deck

3D Mark Wildlife Stress test -
Surprise Surprise, after SD 8 gen 1, the second best is the Sd865+ / sd870.
Everything else throttles like crazy and drops to 40% of its original score.
(As far as only android is concerned.)

Imagine if Apple also did amd rnda2 they would be the best phone for a whole year 😳, I hope samsung sells exynos phones in the US I want to experience ray tracing and not snapdragon

It's kinda getting tough in the Android space.... Xioami phones are good HW wise but MUI is really buggy on my Pad5 and missing bits of Android core api's which cause issues with things like Family Link

Exynos is now just such a curse word for me in the UK now ... i'm done with paying premium price for sub-standard HW compared to same phone in other regions.
Sony is nice but had issues with 21:9 screen not handling some apps properly and the camera in 1II last year was actually pretty bad

All this talk with phones overheating, thats all nonsense. Just connect phone to exterior monitor with cable and submerge phone underwater and you got a water cooled phone that will stay at peak power and not overheat.

I think Dimensity 9000 will be the Android SoC king this year, since they have Arm GPU with a brand new architecture and from a seasoned low power GPU vendor and, considering that early leaks from Snapdragon Gen1 show that it overheats!

Hey Gary, i've a question, i didn't find an answer online, i've read that exynos is made on Samsung 4LPE, while Snapdragon is made on 4LPX, i've found that 4LPE is a better node, but didn't found by how much is better, do you know somenthing?

8 gen 1 scores good on benchmark but in long term it throttle too much and gives performance like 865/870 .

8 gen 1 is most powerful processor but what the use? It heavily throttles can't believe SOCs produced by Samsung. Snapdragon made a deal with Samsung in producing SOCs after cutting off its deals with TSMC.

With the latest updates the Exynos chip is outperforming the existing 888 chip in the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra and runs cooler. The new Snapdragon chip is already running too hot in the Motorola. I don't like Apple products but seeing the power consumption of their chips is remarkable.

I have deliberately waited for you to explain Gary before I watch any other video on the exynos 2200 . I know you will give an accurate account unlike 99 percent of the others who literally talk utter garbage. Linus is another one I'd trust. For me I don't see the point anymore of the extra power! Apple has shown for the last 3 years that it's totally wasted. I don't think phones need to be any more powerful just yet. People will say for gaming etc. But let's face it the games have to be able to run on medium powered phones as this is what what people own. Anyway great video. Let's wait and see what happens. I know for a face they if the exynos variant isnt on par with the SD or better I will not be bothering this year. Samsung has let us exynos users down for to long now. It should be be be that you can pay the same for the same product but get a way better variant of the same device just because you live in a certain area. And at the same price. It's not on.

I think we've reached a point where peak performance isn't as relevant as sustained performance. What good is it to have the most powerful processor on paper if it can't sustain it due to thermal limitations. That's what I'm more interested in. Give me SD865 processing power with better thermals and efficiency to sustain performance longer. Give me battery improvements, ISP improvements, add co-processors to handle things like indevice AI and such. What's the point of having the highest benchmarks if you can't sustain it for longer than 10 seconds before it throttles.

The only weird thing at this point of technological development, is Nvidia's decisions not applying their exceptionally superior GPUs into mobile gaming like AMD. I mean I am not an engineer or anything but as I see it, it would only benefit Nvidia and push it's engineers to make breakthroughs at the Nano level technology, and in turn create more powerful GPUs that don't use much power and don't cost as much.

If I have a choice, I would not buy the first generation of a chip. First generation products are usually bug city. Really bad. I can get either, I am going with Qualcomm.

some sites say AMD mobile GPU is behind the snapdragon and apples SOC. Even though they do good in making GPU in PC's im not sure if they will outperform the tried and tested ones. Look at NVIDIA's Tegra Mobile GPU, they were crap.
