Xbox was stupid to let Epic Games go. Imagine if Xbox bought them out and let them make Fortnite as an exclusive. They would have the biggest system seller of this generation bar none

If this happens, i think this would be another awesome studio for ms. I think obsidian just needs the budget and support of a big publisher. If this pulls thru, next gen is going to be a good competition to see who comes up with the best first party titles. I think obsidian, playground and ninja theory may be ms best studios.

So, for Xbox fans at large, this is good news on the studio stable front. If true. For me though? It had better mean KOTOR 3. Anything less is going to be disappointing.

There was also a rumor that MS was going to buy EA/Valve etc... so much for rumors.

The future is looking pretty good 4 Xbox could be up to 3 triple A games per year........

I have mixed feelings about this.
Could be awesome or the end of Obsidian.

I also think Obsidian would be a much better choice for Fable 4 than Playgrounds. No offense, but they haven't worked on any singleplayer title yet and making good RPG's is not a simple task.
I fear it's going to be some dumbed down Action-RPG with heavy focus on hack&slay, rather than a proper RPG.

The RPG Genre is hands down my favorite in gaming and I would love to see OBSIDIAN make another game in same caliber as FALLOUT NEW VEGAS.

They buy studios then shut them down to get their best employees, or they let them make a game but keep informed in it saying you can't do that or add this because halo has it. When it doesn't do well they shut it down and fire all employees.

I'm already starting to see the narrative changing again, first it was power(when PS had power advantage), then it was exclusives(when PS has more exclusives), now it seems to be changing to "Xbox only has AA games"

This can be an awesome thing, a new KOTOR, maybe a new Sudeki or a new Jade Empire so many possibilities. So many new RPGs XD

The only reason KOTOR 2 wasn't as well regarded as the first one was because of how aggressively LucasArts rushed it. Its actually amazing it came out only a year after the first one and was as awesome as it was - I have full confidence that if they'd actually finished the ending and ironed out the bugs, it would have been a better game than KOTOR 1.

Totally wouldn't mind an obsidian acquisition. Always look forward to whatever project they make

We need Microsoft to come with the Heat nex gen! To make the PS5 even greater! There are some things Sony does that I don't like (Crossplay is not one of them)! As a Playstation fan I'm cool with this!

Fable and SUDEKI looks to colorfully for Obsidian and Fable needs the deep black english humour. Its better a english Team develop Fable.
i think they create a new IP, has RPG Elements, Dialog Design = emotional bias, third person view, adventure parts, exploring parts, sandbox and has a mature parental-realistic look

Don't forget that Obsidian are the creators of the Fallout franchise, but when they were developing Fallout 3 they ran out of money and Bethesda bought the IP to save the company.

this would be massive for ms & shame on bethesda for not going after the devs that make better rpgs then they do

This is a good idea, Obsidian makes ambitious, but very unpolished and underproduced games, so this money will help.

Fallout new Vegas.. was a great game n loved by millions.. and there pedigree is high.. so I trust them if xbox do aquire them
