other than Eddie and Randy there I fixed it lol
ОтветитьDwarfs “Flight of the wounded Bumblebee”
Pretty soon, we’ll be saying ‘Eddie who?’
I think nuno unconsciously ripped off reb beaches solo from "17".
ОтветитьScariest ? Nah .
ОтветитьSir you might enjoy Sevendust if somehow they escaped your scope of vision. This is very similar
ОтветитьEVH and Buckethead rip off.
ОтветитьRick you should do a similar dive into Vito Bratta from White Lion! Would love to hear your take on his style and influences
ОтветитьTranscendent!
ОтветитьI'll always give Eddie his due - But honestly, you can NOT compare Eddie to Nuno - Two TOTALLY different worlds. Nuno never would have written Eruption, Eddie? NEVER could have conceptually come up with and executed 'Flight of the Wounded Bumble-Bee'. They stood side by side, sure, but you can't compare the two worlds in any kind of fairness.
ОтветитьWhen Rick says whoooo- I pay attention!
ОтветитьRick B., I enjoy the videos he does, but.. I don't like stuff that has already been done. Paul G. and 15 other bands that followed. Not original like Ed.
ОтветитьDo your scales kids.
ОтветитьI remember seeing video where Nuno plays Dee by Randy Rhoads. What about Tony Macalpine Bro ? One of the best guitarists ever! WTF?
ОтветитьThere is an interview where Brian May of Queen is marveling at the guitar solo in Get the Funk Out.
ОтветитьNuno Bettencourt my guitar hero 💪
ОтветитьRick Beato has never heard of Steve Morse..
but it is never too late to look him up
Steve Morse is faster than Van Halen and more original than nuno ( profanity mouth) beta court...
I love this video, and Nuno is amazing, and so was Eddie, but Tory Slusher, who I just discovered, is much faster with stamina that suggests effortless mastery; her "bursts of speed" can last several minutes with no lagging, and more to the point, is well versed in Jazz, Classical, atonality, Holdsworth and fusion, as well as banjo rolls and pedal steel homages; her musical world makes the boys look like they're still in grade school! Women are just better; sorry guys! Just kidding, nobody get your man panties in a knot, please!
Electric guitar as a big community has been about 98% male dominated until quite recently, and it's awesome seeing all that pent up girl/woman energy and creativity finally being released as guys learn to not freak out over the influence of women in a previously male dominated art form where if we're honest, there has been a lot of open hostility and a default attitude of mockery against females wanting to rock out in electric guitar bands. It's high time it opened up, and Tory is as exciting a guitarist as I know of now that Allan Holdsworth is gone! Of course I still love all the greats, but it's just super cool that there is this new surge of creative energy coming at us, and she's going to be as revolutionary as we all thought tapping was when it was brand new in rock!
I bought the album 3 sides to every story and was blown away by Nuno’s playing, not just solos but his unique arrangements going on throughout songs. I then watched some live videos which affirmed my appreciation of his unique skill as a guitarist in a world full of great guitarists. He’s not just busy when soloing but contributing throughout the entire song with fills and unusual chord variations and skilful choice of rhythm. If I was putting a “greatest” band together, Nuno would be the first guitarist I would call. I’m glad you have brought his talent to the fore as he rarely gets into anybody’s top 10 guitarist lists.
ОтветитьIncredible, all right.
ОтветитьCheck out Extreme's song Play With Me. Nuno's solo in that song is insane also!
ОтветитьThe fact that u can’t play it. Makes everything. Cheers lol.
ОтветитьHe’s better than Eddie Van Halen. No one shreds better than Nuno. He’s very humble. He knew that he was better. Until this day he will never admit it. But we all know. The fact that this video is up, says everything. Thank u.
ОтветитьTry it lol. U can’t do it . Nuno Portuguese. That’s why he the best.
ОтветитьWe can't talk about picking and groovy riffs without talking about He-Man Woman Hater! Still to this day 2 mind bending intros in 1 song!
ОтветитьWell, I surely admire the technique, but emotionally it does not work for me. It is very technical, but it does not reach my heart. A million notes a second, but meaningless. Hate to rain on your parade.
ОтветитьVince love your stuff but think you're off base with your pizza ,you make the Neapolitan style pizza which is only one style not the only way to make pizza ,if you came to NYC YOU WILL FIND DELICIOUS PIZZA IN DIFFERENT STLYES NOT JUST NEAPOLITAN STYLE ,DON'T
ОтветитьHoly crap my phone lit on fire! I love your channel Rick when you describe stuff dive-bomb slide tremalo picking who Woulda thunk it... More Than Words😮 awesome
ОтветитьIn the 80s there were a handful of guitarists who blew my mind with their musicality.
1. Vitto Bratta
2. Akira Takasaki
3. Marc Diglio
4. Nuno Bettencourt
5. Steve Stevens
There were of course faster and more technical players such as Paul Gilbert, Malmsteen, Vai, Satriani, Buckethead, Dimebag, R/Rhoads, etc. But for the ability to match the rhythm and solo to take a song to a higher level, these few did it for me.
More Than Words did Extreme disservice IMHO, taking up to much limelight. I prefer their heavier and funkier songs actually.
ОтветитьI just got to see EXTREME in San Francisco California and oh my heart is so happy!! NUNO is not only gorgeous he can rip that guitar like no one else.Go see this band 🤘🎸🇵🇹
ОтветитьI was thinking eddie too
But not for the new solo.. faster than eddie , not that it’s a speed contest
But the new solo surpasses Eddie as it should..
It's like the fastest generic shredding you've ever heard.
ОтветитьNuno is an alien
Ответитьtechnically, it's hard, musically, it couldn't touch me less.
ОтветитьSilvergun Superman anyone?
ОтветитьJust saw Extreme last night. 2 hours of guitar playing "Bliss". Everything you've said is right on. He is The DUDE! His playing just blows my mind. The rest of the band are fantastic, too. What a show!
ОтветитьIt sounds like satriani
ОтветитьNuno Bettencourt is amazing. He is the best example that the world musical industry is based on Marketing, much more than talent. Especially the US market. If you ask a professional guitar player to rank Nuno, he will say he is among the TOP 10 guitar players of all time. Nuno is one of the few permanent official members of the Fender's ambassadors and official consultants. I just hope people (streamers and influencers) now help to drive Nuno to the place he always deserved.
ОтветитьNuno is Nr.1...NO other Player is AT that Level right now 😮
ОтветитьFunny how Rick casually mentions "I was talking to Steve Lukather yesterday" 😂
ОтветитьNuno has been my guy since 1990.
I always knew.
Have you heard of Buckethead??
ОтветитьThe song has a very STP sound in my opinion. I like it.
ОтветитьWhat the ? Cool solo but it doesn’t touch the Steve Vai solo on “no pockets”. C’mon man! Where’s the love for that solo? I can’t think of a better solo. It’s up there. All timer. Lay off the crack man.
ОтветитьHOLY $h!+!!! What a solo by Nuno!!!
ОтветитьNuno is great, but Joe Satriani is #1
ОтветитьNuno is the guy now.
ОтветитьOh and midnight express back in the day.
