I’ve been watching you for about a month and your reviews are the best I’ve seen. I’m a filmmaker that has been editing on iPad Pro but I’m upgrading to the Mac Pro 13” 256gb with Final Cut Pro. Can I manage with 256gb or do I really need to go up to 512gb?

I really liked your videos and reviews, and that's the reason I had my company order this model for me. And yet, I couldn't be more disappointed! The Macbook Pro 2020 13" (Intel 8Gb 256SSD) is so slow! And I'm not using it for video editing... It takes ages to boot/reboot, it lags when opening an application, it freezes when you have many browser tabs open (and sometimes it looks as if the GPU cannot handle them), it cannot handle many peripherals attached to the dongle (which in itself is a poor design)... At least once a week it freezes and reboots on its own. I found it to be a substandard product considering the price tag. As it is still covered by warranty, I will contact my IT department to return it to Apple - I hope they will offer a newer model, because this one seems to be a flawed model.

Yeah YOU can probably edit on it because you're making YT videos with simple timelines and needs in FCP. Will this work for other people with more demanding editing needs. Nah not really.

Not only did I purchase the 2020 MP, but got the new M1 chip base model. It refuses to even play a 25" 4k clip with no edits or audio. 76 frames dropped in playback in Premiere Pro

Which year of macbook pro 13 is good for budget friendly ?

I use my MacBook Air as my daily machine and folks use their 12 inch MacBook and even iPad Pro as their everyday machine. There is not one Apple computer with a keyboard that cannot be a daily work machine for video editing in 2020.

Yes you can use it and you have to. Just buy the product that you can afford and would be reasonable. Even an entry level mac pro would do the job just okay, no need to spend thousands on the top models, unless you make money on these videos/photos.

I use my base model 2018 Macbook Pro and there is nooooooo wayyyyyyyy you will be able to edit on this. I had to get an egpu. Pretty ridiculous to call it a pro laptop ...but hey ,apple will slap the word pro on just about anything. Helpful to see that you can on the 2020 models

Is this Mac good for a music producer ?

I'm using the base model on Davinci Resolve and work smoothly. I do basic editings like cutting, text overlays, and some speed ramps. A 3-minute video can be rendered in less than 3 minutes with significant fan throttling. I also have Photoshop and Firefox running in the background. *Im only doing 1080p videos*

Compare it with i5 10th gen macbook air... What's the difference?

I’m so stuck. I want to get the high end model but also want to save money so I go down to the base model and would upgrade the ram and ssd which brings me to $100 less than the high end model so I consider getting the air but don’t want to get it Bc I can spend $300 more and get a better version (base model). I’ve been on this “loop” for about a week. Please help me decide on what to get. Btw I’m going to edit 1080p/4K videos and I’m also a student.
