Would like a smartwatch not st for tracking exercise but also for tracking sleep apnea. Apple appears to have the best algorithms for heart rate and sleep apnea. This looks like a winner.

I got an Ultra 2 yesterday. Today I wore it for 12 hours doing motions inside and going to a restaurant. 12 hours of use dropped the battery by 10%. So that’s 0.83% per hour. Theoretically, if this use rate continues, the battery should last 118 hours or nearly 5 days.

Microphone audio recording is excellent! I’m surprised. 😲

A two-tone warbler sound like a European police car would been a better siren.

i´m curios about one simple thing: is it possible to recharge the apple watch ultra during an activity??! ... i´m on a suunto 9 and if the 9 is running out of energy during an activity i´ll put the cable on a powerbank without any break or stop of tracking my actual activity --> so is this possible to do on the aplle watch ultra too?

Would you please review more of the long version of the temperature Apple Watch so that is it really as good as the skin temperature in the Ticwatch GTH or not? tq

I want Apple to make an additional sport model. Without the diving certification and cheaper case. That would be perfect for me.

I ran a sprint Triathlon and it matched the swim bike and run including transitions with only 13 seconds off of the chip time. All I did was start it when I started swimming. Magic.

What sold me was the siren

My Apple Watch 7 has a scratch that I kept feeling. I knew sapphire glass is scratch resistant. Only beef is I was forced to accept the Alpine Loop band when I could have selected another band.

It didnt record automatically the backtrack, because it only does that if your cellular connection is lost or inexistent.
Otherwise, it considers you can manage with maps.

How come you don't mention that the heart rate sensoris sketchy to say the least!!!

Switched from the Garmin FR955 to the Ultra recently. I love my Garmin and all the metrics it gives, but until I'm back training for something huge I just don't see the need to give up all the capabilities that the Ultra gives for day to day life as an active student. I'm sure I'll be going back eventually......... when I deserve to.

yea, you paying for an APPLE ULTRA watch for $400, for the Apple name, and $350.00 for the product. the watch is tougher than hell, I am an avid outdoors guy Hunter, fishing, etc. I am 74 so it will be the last outdoor watch I will ever own. it will be a fun toy for a while.

I’m in the military, and have done a lot of research before getting this watch. I currently have the Series 4 Nike edition, and still works flawlessly, but thanks to you and this review, I finally decided to get the Ultra. Thanks for the info

This is a great video. Really enjoyed the visual effects and all the information. Hopefully this new Apple Watch ultra won’t die like my Suunto Baro 9. Which got flooded after a couple of years… 536 dollars gone to the trash with Suunto

I'll go with ultra probably ( now have series 8, before had Fenix 5 ). Scary that AW won't survive during a marathon - even they should. 
Garmin is great watch but I can wear them at night - sleep tracking is important for me, I also don't want to spend another 400 dollars + subscriptions for oura. ( though if not subscription cost I would buy the ring gladly )

Apple Ultra Watch design is great. It fits a man’s wrist. What happened to the men’s & ladies watches??? I hated the older styles. I hated the bangs & scratches. Now the wrist bands need help. Leather bands are classic. I had leather bands wear out. However, show me a watch band that doesn’t wear out with time & use.

Moves along nicely. I usually have a hard time “Watch”-ing a 30+ minute review, but he hits all the strengths and weaknesses of not only Ultra but also some of the major competitors. Major take-away, if you’re a diver, get this watch. I’m not a diver, but I’m still going to get this watch.
