Mini ghost, Astro pop, gremlin or Pyzalien 2?
Which one is going to make me feel like I am shredding when I’m just lower intermediate- racing down waves hitting snaps and working towards getting vertical but still at about 2-o’clock

Mini ghost vs rnf96, what’s your pick for smallish beach breaks that can also handle a little punch? Thanks mate

Ive got this board as my daily driver. Been surfing with it for a couple months. From my experience it is an extremely fun board when the waves are glassy and more hollow (at least 3 ft) If you buy one MG, even in the squash tail set, for surfing on messy average, fat waves, it is not going to go well, the board feels stuck and got no drive in these conditions, this board is not a groveller, it asks good waves. Put that on your mind when ordering it.

Now that Ive got my board for good pumping waves, been looking for a real groveller now 😂

I have the pyzelien 2 5’8 for a year now and i feel like its a bit too much volume for me. Im 5’6 150-155lbs, for hallow reef breaks 2-6ft, which pyzel board would you recommend? Mini ghost or shadow? Or just getting the puzelien 2 but at like 25l?

Noel. Killer review, as per usual. QQ: how would you compare the Mini Ghost with the Phantom XL? (I live in San Diego, am 6’0” 205lbs, and am looking for a user friendly HP shortboard for 3-6’+ surf. Thanks!!

Love your channel, keeping us excited about new boards! How does the Mini Ghost squash compare to the Lost Rad Ripper? I'm looking for more mellow feel than a HPSB, but still want a bit of performance (I'm an intermediate, mostly surf beach breaks like Blacks in San Diego). Thanks man - best wishes for your full recovery!

I call the MG Round Tail the barrel hunter. It’s fast and loves a steep clean face no matter the size of the wave. If the wave is throwing a lip, most likely you can get covered. However, the board hates a flat section or fat waves. It’s an extremely fun board in the right conditions. This is my experience at least, I hope it helps someone considering buying this board.

If mini ghost is for smaller waves why makes the rail chunkier ? It’s supposed to be medium low rail I think

Hey Noel, I have the IF72 (5’11 28L) and it goes well in 2-5 feet nicely and the untitled from your review way back! and it gos well in 1-4 feet, and the fever (5’11, 27.6L) however when I ride more critical waves (barreling) 2-6feet I’m getting in late, is the mini ghost, or shadow a good option, I’m also looking to go up in a litre as well.

So ended up getting a 5'10 squash 31.7L as I wanted it more as a small wave performance board, and got it in Epoxy (I'm 192cm, 84kgs). Ran it as a Thruster first with large mayhem fins and weirdly the board felt TERRIBLE, it pivoted well, but just had absolutely no drive which I couldn't believe given its shape and in EPS. I then went back out with my trusty large AM fins and although slightly more drive, it honestly still felt dreadful (surf was about 3ft). I could hardly get any drive to even lay a turn. So I made my way home and threw in a quad set up and FINALLY the board came alive. Might eventually try a twin + stabiliser. But for me it just has to be surfed as a quad. I've been riding a driver 2.0 for 3 years, so not sure if it's just a transition to a shorter fatter board, but I felt like I needed 6ft plus for it to get speed as a Thruster! Was super fun with the quad though!

Do you think the round tail mini ghost in electralite tech would drop it into a 2-6ft wave range? After a daily driver, and love round tails and at 192cm 85 kg. I just destroy any lighter PU glassing boards within 3 months. Could even run it as a 2+1 to grovel in the EPS?

Great review. Thank you for the awesome content. Between the mini ghost and the sub driver 2.0, which do you think is a better all rounder? I live in South Florida and surf central florida all the time. I also travel to Nica and Brazil about once a year for some better waves. Any major things about the two I should know about? I'm 6'1 173lbs and usually surf with boards around 30L. The mini ghost stock dims would put me at a board that is 5'9 (30.5L) vs the sub driver 2.0 5'11 with 29.25L. Any advice? Thank you so much!

Hey noel ,
I have a phantom and i love it on good medium size clean waves , but i need a board for smaller punchy beach and reef breaks on low tide , i was thinking for the mini ghost but apparently where i am i can only find the round tail , what do u think of the round tail as quad for the waves i want it ? Also , u think the overlap would be too much ?
Thanks my man 🙏🙏

Hey Noel. Sick review. I am trying to decide between the mini ghost or the Inferno 72. Both look super fun, but the Inferno keeps sticking out. My hang up is that I surf in really cold water so need some extra volume, therefore usually between 31 and 32 liters. That pushes me into a 6'0 Inferno or a 5'10 mini ghost. I'm 5'11 and don't love surfing boards longer than me. Should that push me into the MG or get that hangup out of my head? Plan on using from thigh high to slightly head.

Hey Noel, great review. I'm getting a new Pyzel for summer in San Diego for zippy chest high beach break, usually get up and go as fast as possible and get off one or two turns before close out section. Looks like the choices are Mini Ghost Squash, Gremlin and Astro Pop. I'm at 27-28 liters so 5'5 or 5'6" in one of these three boards. Which would you chose and what fin set up, thruster or quad and type of fin. Thanks for all the reviews - love them.

I thinking to take either a 6‘2 mini ghost or phantom XL on a year surftrip. Both have around the same liters. What would you recommend more? I thought about a round mini ghost so I can progress an play around with different fin setups if i want to loose it up or give mor speed. Squash seems to be the better daily driver but not sure if it holds up if I end up on good reef breaks with decent sizes.
Or would you have another board in mind that you would take on a surftrip and you dont know where it will take you

Great surfing on this board, looks so fun and inspiring!! And thank you so much for all the great content.

I‘m thinking to either buy a Phantom or MG Round Tail (both around 30 liters). I’m surfing the Astro Pop and I love this board in smaller waves. Now I’m looking for a board when the waves are a bit bigger or punchier. My level is intermediate to advanced. I’m riding the Monsta Box 2020 for those occasions but I feel it really needs a punchy wave and it’s not so easy to surf.

Would you rather suggest the Phantom or the MG Round Tail in this case?

Thank you so much and happy weekend!

Hi Noel, I've recently bought a neck beard 2 but I'm considering selling it, it doesn't suit me.. I'm more a front footer surfer and i have the felling that the NB2 is not forgiving when pushing front foot too much. Am I wrong? Which small wave performance board would you suggest? This mini ghost looks good but looking for alternatives.
Thanks!
