Are we supposed to be dependent on illegal immigrant workers to keep things cheap?

I watched an interview with an economist related to these deportations of undocumented workers. They were talking about how these deportations will affect the U.S economy. It was pointed out how by deporting all these illegal immigrant workers would lead to higher prices for various things. I guess because illegal immigrants are paid less. This got me wondering. Are we relying on illegal immigrant workers to keep things cheaper? Supposed all of these deported workers re-entered the U.S legally to work. Wouldn't they then have to be paid the same as any legal U.S worker? Wouldn't that then cause prices to go up if they were legal workers? So, do we need these workers to be illegal so that they can be paid less leading to cheaper consumer prices?

I'm getting a mixed message. On one hand illegal workers are supposed to be deported. Yet it's like we aren't supposed to deport them because they keep things cheaper by them being paid less as illegals.

People working illegally in this country should have their bank accounts seized as "criminal proceeds". Every bank is required to "know your customer" after 911 and has a list of non-citizen accounts. These funds would pay for a lot of charter flights back.

Fear, how about the joy that people feel knowing that their community is safer?

Every deportation dollar deprives children and families of stability. All the private prisons will also imprison otherwise good men as guards. The imprisoned will not pay taxes. The guards will develop health problems. Lose/lose is opposite win/win.
