The Rock was perfect for the part and it's a massive shame he didn't allow himself to be a real villain or at least a real asshole like Will Smith in Hancock. Hancock as a movie only started sucking after Charlize's mouth began moving more than Jason's. Now if the pun was intended then one can argue that's the way it's supposed to work, but the pun wasn't intended..it twasn't!

The rock didn’t kill that movie. The idiot child who couldn’t ride a skateboard, his idiot mother, her idiot brother who was the typical bollywood comedy relief. The race swapping of hawkman who was hideously miscast. The whole chip on the shoulder. Fate was fine. The other two missed the mark though. The third rate script. The rock was ok. If all those other issues weren’t shite it may have worked. The Rock can only do so much. His star power can’t make up for an otherwise shitty movie.

It’s crazy people still hate on him… he stood up for Palestine way before any of you even knew what was going on. I’m married to a Palestinian woman… so I’ve know for a long time. And when I saw this movie and realized what they were saying - by making the Hero of their nation a villain to everyone else - I immediately understood The Rock was actually coming from a genuine place and trying to say something big in a hero movie

Hawkman and Dr. Fate were awesome. Everyone else i would just throw away.

I don't know how the fuck is Black Adam even a main character in a movie, that has a happy ending.
He is a fucking villain, who knows only one thing. Kill Billy.

He shoulda just played Black Adam as a bad guy in Shazaam, I can say with certainty, that would have got him more attention. Bad guys are an integral part to any universe, possibly more important than the heroes, as the heroes are nothing without a good bad guy, the stories don't hit as hard without a good bad guy, and Dwayne playing a bad guy well could have brought tons of attention.

You don't have to be the hero, or even the victor to be a fan favorite. Some of my favorite characters across tons of media are the villains.

The Rock is just play himself in every movie. he is barely acting. he wanted to keep playing the same character so he doesn't need to put effort into acting

You can say what you would like about the rock, I get that. However, aside from nostalgia, Shazam is for kids. I believe the black Adam showed a lot of promise because of it presented a grown-up DC world similar to Snyders take. Rather than trying to copy the marvel formula for kids and viewership I think DC should’ve stayed with this adult theme, and I think the rock and superman, even though it varies from the comics was much more refreshing take than the foolish Billy Batson stuff.

Black Adam is supposed to be a BAD guy, what I don't get is all these Hollywood movies they rarely make a Movie where the Bad Guy Wins, all they had to do was make Black Adam the bad guy that he is, get JSA to fight him and he beats them.. even though lets be real.. Dr Fate would beat Black Adam himself.. but lets just say they lose and then end credits we see Shazam and Superman talking to each other and they hear the news about Black Adam and fly up together.. The End.

Black Adam was actually a pretty solid movie, what Gunn should have done is at least waited for Black Adam 2 or Shazam 3 and have them fight. Heck even wait for Black Adam 3 and have them fight.

Cant wait for the dr. doom movie that isn’t part of the fantastic 4 but instead wants to fight iron man

Sort of off topic.. Shazam, I like the movies for the most part, but has anyone else noticed the adult is much more immature than the child? They don't even remotely feel like the same person and it's jarring. The rest of them do pretty good, especially Meagan Good. But yeah, I end up getting annoyed while watching those movies. Probably why I've only watched them 1 time. Hell I've watched Black Adam twice! And it sucks! haha

I think it make sense.... Movie didnt show him as a bad guy, it showed him as a good guy. Imagine others fighting him cause he was trying to be himself and defend his country, not giving a crap about america. Oh... wait. isnt that how america treats rest of the world ?

I'm So Sick of Watching viewer like you 'who think they can produce a better films Like Black Adam When in reality you have not even one movie to call your own. Central to the character of Shazam is that his civilian identity is a child. It's the superhero version of "Big". Delaying the second Shazam movie until Billy's actor was 20 ripped the heart out of that movie.

Arnold is a better team player than The Rock and he told fans, "Screw your freedom."

I don't understand his fans at all. The Rock is The Rock in every movie he's in. I don't mind him as a background character not too many lines just the muscle. But man, his acting is so bad. Dave Bautista is so many levels above The Rock acting wise. The Rock is The Rock character 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Ive tried. I waited to see if he would choose roles that were challenging or put him out of his comfort zone but he has done the opposite. He only picks roles that he thinks are good. He doesn't challenge himself other than at the gym on his gear which he lies about. When this guy says everyone loves the Rock I disagree. He's a politician. He's not very genuine and his whole gimmick is actually quite corny honestly. But that's just my opinion.

The Rock is like Mark Wahlberg. They should never be the main character of a film. When you can't act to be the face then you play a B character and lower. You're a side character at best and that's it. When actors like this are the sidekick or goon they can be decent.

The rock and black Adam was the perfect pairing, if he played the villain and became the Thanos of DCU....more people knew who black Adam was than the guardians of the galaxy. I just don't see how movies can fuck up the best parts of unique storyline. In Flashpoint, batman was suppose to be Thomas Wayne (Bruce got killed in the alley) and the joker was suppose to be Martha wayne...both parents driven to two opposite ends of the spectrum after their child's death...nope, we got Michael Keaton batman...there is a reason people gravitate to certain story lines, stop messing them up
