This seems way too hard. I rather just use Zaxwerks 3D Flag

hmmm this doesn't seem to work with me. I have two AI files which i have pre comp'd. Its a image of a white leaf. When i select the alpha channel it turns black. Is there something else i have to do? Thanks, Ben.

So this can ONLY be done with the Trapcode plug-in? Is there an alternate way to do this without the plug-in? I'm using After Effects CC 2014 on a gov't computer so downloading extra stuff off the internet is not an option.

This was exactly what I needed :) I'm glad you spent the time on it too and didnt rush through.. I knew next to nothing about after effects so was great to have a slower pace

Form( Trapcode Form) is a $200 add on that is needed for this project. If your doing a how to video then you should bet that someone who dose not know how Trapcode works(watching a how to) has no idea what it is and has not dropped $200 on it. This just leads to a waist of time on the viewers part.

Thanks a lot for this tutorial! I already animated some flags a couple of years ago without using any plugins, but since I bought Trapcode Form this will come in handy for my next project :)

How about without trapcode? Most people don't have that. Just After Effects.

Hi KG, Thanks for the great tutorial. I followed it to the letter and made a nice flag for another project however, I tested it by putting the Master Flag comp into another scene and find that he flag has a degree of opacity. Enough to allow the background to show through in fact. How can I remedy this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi!, it`s very helpful tutorial but i have some question. How use trapcode form to animate clothes like the superhero cape??
In this tutorial the flag has square shape and how is with triangles or other?

Is there any what I can add a picture on the flag ?

Something is wrong... I made a 2100px and put a 1920px wide cloth, but I used a texture and when I select the trap form the object goes transparent, not showing it AT ALL... How to fix it? :(

This tutorial is fantastic! When I do this the opacity of my (flag) drops and I get a black box around it, any way to remove it?
