iPhone Not Charging? How To Fix It! [2023]

This problem is recurring and extremely irritating: I've plugged in several different cables I know are good. The iPad in this case will register the cable with a sound configuration and the charging icon will display. Then after a second I'll get the 'Not Charging' notice next to the battery icon. After a hard reset a cable plugged in will work. But if it's pulled and reinserted the 'Not Charging' BS begins again. There's no gunk in the receptacle. It's as close to pristine as it gets. This seems to clearly be some software issue but I can't find anything about it and I dread calling Apple support because one almost always gets a pleasant drone that reads trouble shooting documents and hasn't a clue about software or hardware (much less firmware)

What to do if phone is dead?

So 1 week i am struggeling to charge my phone and the simplest thing of simply cleaning it a bit fixed it and it now works like gold. Thx !!!

When I plug into my car usb, the iPhone says something about accessory detected, but does not charge. Everything else works fine from the car usb.

Wait, I can’t do a hard reset cause it says “keep holding the buttons to call the emergency number” like I don’t wanna do that

it didn't helped at all in my iphone 6 because last time i was using a iphone charger its not original but when i used original it's working but why doesn't it work on original?? And when my fake iphone charger breaks i had to try other chargers but it doesn't work????? Is there tips u still guys have???

Ironically, the one method you cautioned against, the toothpick cleaning method, was the method that fixed my phone. Tons of crap came out of the charging port with the toothpick. It was amazing.

i have an I 10 phone. The insert charger stopped working. So I switched to a wireless charge that is a round disc purcahsed at Att store. It was working for a week. Now it wont charge with that either. It had recently had a software updagte. I did what you suggested, turned it off, waited 30 seconds, turned it back on & tried to charge it againl. The green ring isn't coming on still. HELP Christie

Just came across this video and man thank you guyus so much. I thought the port was messed up. All it needed was a hard reset.

lately my phone Is not charging. It was after I blew into the port but then it completely stopped, I tried a different charger and it shows the charging symbol but it drained the charge. I've got it on a charging block and it's charging but really inconvenient because I can't go on it. Any suggestions??

My phone charges but wont change while im on it it will only charge when i leave it

Guys! If this is still not helping, don’t worry! It’s probably not charging because your iPhone is overheated. The new update informs you about it.
All you need to do is stop using your phone and try to make the atmosphere a little cooler.
This problem is usually during summer. 👍

Hello, what about the optimized battery charging option in the iphone settings ? BTW, im just wondering , the difference between a simple cable that charges and another which is also exchanging datas, i supposed if you are MFI certified it will do both, did it ?

so heres the thing when my phone if fully dead then i charge it it works then but as soon as i unplug it then plug it back in it doesnt charge inless if i let it run out so plz help???????

Ive had 3 iphones do this to me, tried cleaning it tooth brushes, paid people to fix it. I'm over it at this point it such a hassle its like these things have a 2 year life span now with the charging port. Any recommendations for a phone least likely to do this to me?

I have an Iphone 7 and am a total Luddite when it comes to any technology. Your video saved me quite a lot of mileage to an Apple store--nearest one being over 100 miles away. Thank you! I was able to get the phone back on. I plan on replacing it with Iphone 14 but am waiting for paycheck. Thank you, again.
