How to factory reset Surface pro 1-7 and complete data wipe | DT DailyTech

This won’t work on my surface

I have a used surface pro 6 that my aunts friend gave me and I tried to reset everything when I got into his profile for the computer but no changes were made even after I chose clean drive(should I just do it this way?)

Im doing that and all its doing is restarting im not getting that blue option screen. Someone please help

Thank you, this has been great. My Surface Pro 5 had a cursor problem constantly going up to the top right of the screen and automatically closing all windows. I did a reset keeping files and it seems (fingers crossed) has fixed the problem. It asked me for the Windows key and to go to a MS site with a very long number and to use a different pc. Nightmare, so I just turned off the tablet, restarted it and the issue has gone. Again, thanks. I have liked and subscribed.

It has a recovery key where can I find it?

I'm at the troubleshoot screen. I have three options listed in this order:
RESET THIS PC: Let's you choose to keep or remove your personal files and then reinstalls windows.
RECOVER FROM THE CLOUD:
Reinstalls windows from your PC manufacturer. This will remove your files, apps and settings.
ADDITIONAL OPTIONS:......
*PRIOR TO THIS I TRIED RESETTING THE DEVICE AND REMOVING ALL FILES AND I WAS GREETED WITH HER RECOVERY KEY PROMPT*
What option do I choose?
I'm purchased this device at thrifty shopper and it came with a password I have no other information about the device I did write down the information given when prompted for the recovery key but other than that I need help and I don't know where to go from where I'm at

Just says reset failed... tried many times. There's always the wood chipper.

i couldn't complete these steps , cause i face a problem during the factory reset , when i clic on remove everything , and after waiting a moment u have two choice but me no ; it asked me to enter the recovery key , so please direct me , what should i do now

I WISH YOU SAID SOMETHING ABOUT THE RECOVERY KEY BEFORE I PUSHED SHIFT AND RESTART! NOW I'M STUCK AND CAN'T FIND MY RECOVERY KEY (Wife's Key). I was trying to reset it easily so I could sell it. This really messed me up.

Thanks, it worked just had to go to an extra website to find my factory key. But everything else ran smoothly.
