apartments in The Sims 3 make The Sims 4 look bad

TS3 does have sales on Black Friday and a lot of it was half off

Love the sims 3 💚 also, I feel like I’ll be playing for rent im the sims 4 but with the roommate function, not the landlord… cause then I can actually have a mini open world

now that we know how the apartments look in for rent, I wish the sims team had gone with the ‘blackout’ of other apartments instead of just showing them unfurnished. idk, it bothers me a bit and will definitely take some getting used to 😕

Can we just talk about how cool the debug tools were for sims 3. The whole World Adventures pack functioned off them and it was so intelligent and well made. You could rig your own dungeons. I loved it, there is nothing quite like it in the Sims 2 or the Sims 4!

I, too, grew up on the Sims 3, so the room markers were such a nice flashback!!

i played sims 3 more than sims 4, despite its lags and crashes , she still my bestie that i love very much, I learn to live with the lack of flexibility in the build / buy mode in the sims 3 and make most of it, its not the best but shes trying

I honestly don't think this is better than Sims 4's execution. Looking at the old City Living apartments it's basically the same thing; a fake husk with a couple of apartments (or in this case, ONE apartment). Looking at For Rent, it's not even a comparison anymore.

I think ill play sims 3 again, haven't played in a long time and Sims 3 had some great features which is lacking in sims 4... I miss drivable cars, storylines were better and IDK...just fun. I love playing supernatural...its my favorite.

as someone who plays the sims 3 all the time, the sims 4 seems so bright to me 😭

I was actually there for the release of The Sims 1 and all the expansions, and played The Sims 2 religiously until switching to 4. (When 3 came out I didn’t have a PC that could run it and by the time I had a PC like that, 4 was about to come out, so I have very little experience with 3.) So I played The Sims 2 for a decade. And I honestly didn’t remember there were apartments in it until watching this video’s beginning. I am questioning my entire existence. Time to reinstall and remember!

Ts4 is the Girlfriend that looked so good looking but doesnt have any brains, TS3 is the perfect girlfriend you left in exhange for TS4

I am currently playing ts3 on origin and I have to say while it was not my favourite at the time because the characters CAS look a little ballony to me, the nightlife neighborhood has such eerie vibes and I love to follow my sims through town (even when they do weird stuff like getting the tube and then taxi). And I also love the view from the apartments windows. I like to play close up, walls up games and the eerie, liminal vibe really fits my gameplay. Anything is better than ts4 btw, despite having spent a lot of money on it :(((

The thing about lag in TS3 is that the game is not optimized. It will absolutely eat your GPU because it doesn't have a built in frame limiter and will run at 1000+ fps. You have to use something like Bandicam or another FPS limiter to limit the frames to your screen's refresh rate (usually 60-120fps) or you'll have lag and other issues.

You also have to go into specific game files to allocate more RAM usage because its default is only 2gb, which really does not work well. I allocate 6gb and no lag for me even on very detailed worlds with multiple very detailed lots.

I still play TS3 and love it, but it definitely has its quirks and it's definitely not perfect.

You can follow the Steam Performance Guide and make the game run well. It’s always going to lag if you don’t have the fixes since the hardware is just too new. We even have fixes for slow CASt.

I played Sims 3 on a laptop… sounded like a jet engine and required a cooling fan BUT I’d fire that baby up just to enjoy playing sims again. Sims 4 just doesn’t have the same soul 😢

Sims 3 with sims 4 graphics, build mode, closed world to save our pcs, and both camera options would have made the sims 4 the best sims game and actually feel worth $1000 (even tho thats still ridiculous and pretty unheard of for a one player offline game)

ugh I miss Bridgeport. It was such and amazing world! It had the downtown city but then the greater city area with the outskirts. It was my favorite world in sims 3.

All of the Sims 3 makes Sims 4 look bad to be fair. I miss the color shader and customization the most :( Sims 3 felt like a semi-real sim, whereas Sims 4 feels so cartoony and childish.

Y’all really be sleeping on how the sims 2 handled apartments, it was literally the best

Sims 2 is older and never had issues crashing. I really see it as the gold standard for sims but capitalism will never let sims 4 be that good again 😖

I like all the sims games , my favorite is sims 3 . Im a big fan of the open world and the expension packs are in my opinion better than in sims 4 .

The Sims 3 apartments were such a huge downgrade from TS2 apartments. The Sims 4 cannot top that. TS2 days were the golden days of the Sims franchise.

Sims 3 apartments are much inferior they are not even apartments it's a house disguised as a apartment you can't visit the neighbors no anything lmao and the university system is just roommates sims 4 is much superior in this sims 3 don't even have land lord noise or any gameplay related to the apartments, the only game that have proper apartments is sims 2 and 4.

And even if the sims 3 had gameplay on the apartments with it dont have it no have noises issues problems rats there's nothing exclusive to apartment even if it had you still can't have more than one family in it it's not real it's horrible only sims 2 and 4 have proper apartments

I tried to play the sims 3 again i brought 3 pack's and the GP was so good but even with a custom built gaming pc it was unplayable with continual crashing and glitches.
I got a refund , its unfortunate because it was such a good game to play... or try too anyway

I don't understand. I never have these lag issues playing TS3, and I play 100% vanilla. I have a pretty good computer now, but I used to play this on a dell laptop while also streaming netflix to the tv, and still didn't have these issues. I still play TS3 today and have no issues, while TS4 barely runs (also 100% vanilla).

the sims 3 ran like a brick through a window, but it just had so much and sims 2 & 3 are constant reminders of how much they've taken from us

It happened to alot of games, there is just not alot of creativity anymore. There was so much creativity to do in Ts3 down to the many many swatches. Yea the camera and building was ROUGH, im sure bathing a cat would be better, but I felt more creativity playing Ts3 basegame than Ts4 basegame. I have to use to many mods ONTOP of having alot of the dlc just to have 20 minutes of fun.

The sims 3 was supposed to teach us patience and resilience , a solid attempt at that

I gotta say the sims3 has been made better by mods nowadays theres a lot of mods to make it feel like sims 4 also theres one mod that make the game run smoothly like almost no loading screens cas items load instantly its crazy how it changes the gameplay

Honestly, everyone seems to wish that the colorweel and all the possibilities for furniture Design come back but man, I am so happy with the way Sims 4 did it. Like it would be cool for it to be more customizable like having bedframes, mattress and sheets seperatly to choose each color etc or like have the same wood colors for every object and so on but having it too customizable takes ages and often doesn't even look that great because we are all just doing our best and most of us aren't furniture designers

I agree that building in the Sims 3 is painful, but gameplay wise Sims 3 is the superior game and I would rather play it

Force setting VSync on via control panel on your pc's system fixes virtually all of Sims 3's issues -- this is why I continue to cringe at "slow"

honestly, i firmly believe that the apartment expention pack thats coming up is to prepare us for sims 5
since the things ive been reading about the sims 5 being apartments

TS3 Late Night apartments kinda function like a condo, you buy that unit and pay bills like normal house lots.

If you also have TS3 University Life EP, it came with the rental lot option. So you can pay rent with much lower rate. But to be warned, rental lot will automatically assign you with 7 other NPC roommates which can be reset for lower numbers or no roommate by the in-game cellphone.
