this was just one of the miracles of the 1960s..rock musicians which included the blues etc channelled country and bluegrass music. just like that they captured the spirit of basic American country jug music. the grateful dead especially Jerry Garcia did the same thing.

I always have had a special place in my heart for Roger and Chris together.

Chris Hillman has a nice voice. I never knew until now. I would have loved to see him and Roger do a Desperado-type album. I think they really could have given the Eagles good competition.

This appears to me to be from the sessions from "Will The Circle Be Unbroken II" sessions by The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band".

Have watched Sean Colvin, Roseanne Cash and Mary Chapin Carpenter perform this in the 1992 Dylan concert (on dvd or Youube that is). I believe this is what they watched or heard of back then. Roger may have taught them. Anyway, i love this performance bu Chris and Roger!! Been playing along to the video tonight. 02-06-24.

Hard to believe that Chris was on 15 years old and Roger was 12 when they started the Byrds. But then again, they were so much older then they're younger then that now.
