It was a sad loss that Trevor Jones passed away halfway through scoring the movie and that's why Randy Edelman is credited as well. Superb job by both.

One of my all time favorite films. First rate acting, spectacular cinematogrophy and one of the best soundtracks ever. The opening theme captures the awesome majesty and beauty of the western frontier in colonial times.

If you are wondering why you do not get thought provoking movies or books of this caliber anymore, it is because they do not want us to think. These kinds of movies and art no longer line up with their agenda to dumb down society, and so they keep the intelligent hidden while pumping out trash for the new people coming into the World. If you try to show many of the new people anything thought provoking it is met with "I don't get it" or "this is boring" even though they will flip through a 2 second real of different people doing the same thing for 2 hours on their phone. Their minds cannot handle information. Not all.. but many.

"Magua, How are tings with your English Friends?!" The "Promontory"theme is awesome when all British soliders, start dancing while being besieged in Fort William Henry. When the French bring in their big mortars and start speaking before they light the fuses in unison, is one of the best scenes. The parlay scene with drums and marching showing French and English military, is superb. Montcalm and Munro, French empire Colonials, and British colonials. Poor Uncas and Alice!

Wonderfull music. I often hear it.

This is a fantastic movie but this soundtrack elevates is to great, great heights. Been in my top 10 movies since I first saw it on its release. Cracking stuff. Soaring. Sweeping. Epic in scope and flawless in execution. It really does drag you in its wake right into the film.

So in conclusion, it's good.
