RC First Look: Fat Shark Transformer FPV Goggles

Can you help me out with how to setup transformer hd to fpv camera directly

I want to buy a box fpv glasses with good image quality and I do not know which Skyzone SJ-V01 vs FatShark Binocular Transformer, what would you recommend me and why? Currently there are some box fpv glasses that are better than these 2?

Just spent my first race day with the this (binocular setup). Impressed, very impressed. To give you a little background. I have really bad astigmatism especially in my left eye, so much so that there is no contacts prescription available. I have always struggled a bit with my Dom V2's, the sideways adjustment got close but was never spot on, I just learnt to fly with it. Putting the binoculars on however is a very different experience. Firstly, the scale of the image in front of your eyes is HUGE something which I really get on with and is very immersive. Secondly, the sideways adjustment has a really decent throw and being able to move the screen back and forth gave me the sweet spot that has been missing for a while. And last but not least, decent diversity. Yes its antenna based but it performs well, the switch is very gentle so whats not to love. All in all, for the first time in a long time I had problem free video, whilst flying with 4 others at 25mw and all was good.

i came back to watch this review again, (Thank you Painless, and Thanks to ANDYRC for turning me on to your channel.) It's a great piece of technology though unfortunately it seems their Marketing execs have run amok.

No DVR is just going to come from the already established aftermarket companies.Wait for some tester from one of them to make a small chip bundle to handle the request. Boku bucks Yo!

how would you describe the image size compared to others like Fatshark Attitude V3? I like my Attitudes but I would love a larger image, but don't really feel like dropping $500 on Dominator HD3s

People are so focused on the non important. Go get a Eachine DVR for $30 and then you have your precious DVR 🙄or you could go get the Tactic screen with built in DVR for 90$ and then Have second screen and google insert....I like it and the technology. For $250? I'm a buyer

It only has 4:3 AV mode? No 16:9?

One guy bought those and find out one annoying thing - unwanted parasite reflection from mirrors, so you get some ghost "picture in picture", so there is a small semitransparent picture, that really distract. Sad to hear that.

Are there any goggles you would recommend a prescription glasses wearer could use. I have tried putting lenses in my FS goggles and they don't work the same. Thank you for your time

One question - what means 'antenna diversity, not true diversity'? Does this monitor have only one receiver inside? So how it works then?

I think I'll stick with my Quanum Pro V2 goggles, which allow me to wear my corrective lenses, and cost about 1/3 of what these cost. I suppose if you have 'normal' eyes, and a fat wallet to match the FatShark, these might be for you. Cheers.

Looks like a fun homage to the Transformers toys but for true diversity, HD, headtracking, DVR, price, size, and weight, I think either Skyzones, or Dominator v3's may be better suited for my needs. Thanks for the review!

The 18650 battery holder is really cool! Me and most of friends that will be able to use it with old ecig battery's

Perhaps it might be ok for the vr fans out there but can't see why fatshark would go this way.. there probably testing the market or something. Experiment..? Meh

How to adapt eyewear-need? In my Headplay I had to install additional lenses!

Why do companies continue to leave out DVR? This really would have been the killer app and technically speaking is not hard to implement. Just making us spend more money :/

Very cool. I hope they sell the battery case individually because I'd love to have that for my other fatshark goggles as well. I have a ton of 18650's that I could make use of. I never liked the DIY 18650 mods people were doing as the mod usually looked pretty ugly and I was not motivated enough to buy an 18650 battery tray and try to make my own nicer setup. However, I would gladly pay for that 18650 battery case if they offer it for sale.

Now ill just wait for the DVR addition. Silly Fatshark

Amazing how Fatshark can make something so nice looking as Dom v3's etc. and turn around to make a really ugly box of a viewer...
Just got my V3's as the box goggles just weren't the right fit for my eyes (tested several). Thankfully, the Dom V3's are perfect for me. Really pricey though, even on xmas sale...ouch.

What is better the attitude v3's or the transformer HD????

It would be great if the binocular view option supported 3d. I thought that's where you were going, but it would require twin tuners with screen combining smarts, so no go there then I guess. I'm also wondering what the native resolution of the screen is.

The design really lends itself to various upgrades and re-purposing, such as you mentioned in the video for the monitor section. I can't help to imagine someone may, and probably will, make a monitor section that has a dvr in it, as well as other improvements and enhancements. What a revolutionary concept for Fat Shark to undertake. Well done. Thank you.

still no power switch wow

pop open a old laptop Battery. they are made of 18650 Battery's. so if you have a old laptop batterty its Normaly only one battery cell that bad and you are left with many 8 or 10 good cells.

A couple things. First those of you asking for a fan have probably never used this style goggle. You don't need a fan because they're not flush against your face like the goggle type. I use this style and have never needed a fan. Plus it would make it even bigger and heavier. We are already pushing the weight limit as it is.

But no DVR? Let them sit on the shelf and force FS to come out with a revise. Such a simple thing that would be the final BLOW to any other system like this on the market. Such a wasted effort. And no true diversity? I mean why do so much to be a game changer and stop just short of the finish line?

So 250 for the main, 40 for the bioptic version and 20 for the 2 batteries. I'll stick with my Headplays, thanks.
