At the same time I am looking for Smart watch which I can use in gym with out having to carry my phone with me and still be able to receive call and connect to air pod while I listen Spotify music

I’ve been using my Apple Watch as a stand alone for several years now. Started with the SE and just bought a Series 9. Both have cellular and I have no problems doing almost everything with the watch.

If a manufacturer tried to develop a watch that can be used as a smart phone, eventually they will get it right. But that’s not what Apple is doing with the watch. They want it to supplement the phone and other devices, so it’s not going to do the job you want as a standalone phone.

Don’t you need an iPhone to install new apps to the watch? It doesn’t seem totally mobile yet. They should come out with a new version that is the phone watch you want. But honestly it can’t replace the phone because nobody is going to use Facebook on a tiny screen or even FaceTime for that matter. It just isn’t big enough 😢

I want to replace the stupid smart phone due to social media addiction. These social medias design its platform to keep you there and people tend to be unproductive due to that. Its not enough to delete the app. It just should not be available on the device.

We started with small screens. Some people complained about that and so phone screen sizes gradually expanded to the size of a small tablet. Now we're back to tiny screens, but even tinier than the original ones on the first smart phones. Uh, no thanks! I got spoiled having a large screen size, and for good reason. I mean, who wants to watch videos on a tiny screen? I love smart watches but the small screen size presents obvious limitations. They shouldn't force you to choose one or the other. The best solution is BOTH. Your watch should be able to operate fully independent of your phone, when it makes sense for that to happen, like when you go out jogging and you don't want to take a full size phone with you. Both devices smart phone & smart watch, while capable of operating separately, should both be under the same account & phone number, if that's what the customer wants. Have BOTH if you want, each working together or fully separate whenever you want it to be that way. That, IMO, would be the best way to go and everyone will be happy.😀

hey man just a tip: although your alpine band does fit, its better to get one size up: the buckle will be on the side of your wrist, which helps because it doesnt bang agaisnt the screen when u take it off, but also doesnt scratch any surface you place your wrist on to.

Thanks for the video @unboxtherapy. Can you touch upon the cellular plan. Was it unlimited data? How much data was consumed during your 2 day test? Did you share your phone data with the watch etc. These are the concerns we have with Canadian carriers so we don’t end up Mortgaging our house to pay the phone bill. Lol.

If you haven’t been to Canada, their diet consists of junk food. That’s what he’s eating throughout this video. It’s a sad thing to be a second-class American.

There was no point of ordering an Apple Watch until now. Now that I want to focus on my own side hustle to escape the 9-5 I want to minimize distractions and mindlessly scrolling by a lot and this will be a great buy, a return on investment

Love the premise. Of course I wouldn’t get rid of my phone altogether, but I love the possibility of being able to run errands around town with just a watch to keep me connected. Might have to pick one of these up!
