Great movie. Great entertainment. Astounding beauty. It is also a great lesson from history. Communism tried to kill the private life. But in the end, after WWl, after the revolution, after the takeover of communism, Comrade General Zhivago (brother of Dr. Zhivago) who fought so hard to bring on the revolution was seeking out his niece to have a family connection.

The peices of this great movie were assembled in just the right way to make it a masterpiece. Omar Shariff, Julie Christie, and the rest of the cast are simply wonderful. The scenery is incredible. The staging, props, directing are excellent. Thanks for posting this and reminding me that I have a copy of this on dvd.
