Hi !! If I’m trying to print pictures that customers send me to put into ash trays, would this be the ideal technique to use to get those images smaller for me to print out and fit to the correct size of the ash tray?

Lightroom wont print out the correct size. The original size of my actual image is 150 x 85 mm and as i put those settings on lightroom, it will appear way smaller. Idk what to do anymore nothing allows me to print out my own size.

Okay! I'm finally getting this. But what if I need to shrink an image? Would I just pick a different paper size. Or would I need to stretch it into the right detention of the paper I'm printing on? Just some guesses.

I have learned so much from you over the last month, I can't tell you how much I appreciate you!! I am able to shoot RAW images of my paintings by now, adjust them accordingly in LR and/or PS....then I save them as tiff. I got myself the Pixma pro 100. Got the right paper, the colors come out correctly and I learned how to perfectly center the image onto the paper for printing [if I wanted to]. I also know how to crop them in the right ratio for the image I want to print. My question is following: If I have a picture that will be printed over and over in different aspect ratio sizes over time [5x7, 8x10, 11x14 for example]. I would have to take that original tiff file and crop it to each ratio and save each on its own. [For example: tree 5x7, tree 8x10, tree 11x14] I need to save it for each aspect ratio right? If you reprint a file many times, do you keep them as tiff or jpegs? Trying to figure out the best way to organize everything correctly and wondered if this is the way to do it right? I tried to see if someone else asked something similar before but I couldn't locate anything in the videos I have already watched.

Jose thank so much for your printing content you Rock., just bought Pixma Pro-10 ready for software and watch your video on that.
Got so tired of Fine Art Labs and BS goes with it or like I recall one of many videos I watch of yours saying Mega Bucks that is correct.
Some Labs would not except my photos to print, oh because I did not have a Studio hmmm. After receiving 11x14 print from a Lab in
Boston took 2 weeks, after looking at that garbage threw it trash cost me 45 dollars yikes. Talk hours on Labs but no need you helped
me become my own Lab Thanks again. Who cares what Trolls have to say always watch your content you are Guru of printing.

Nice tip on the driver borderless setting. Thanks. And, when you went to Qimage, I noticed the rulers. I don’t see them on my computer, and I should have the latest version. Can you tell me where the ruler on/off switch is?

I had similar issues setting my exact templates when I first started until, I too, changed the driver to borderless. The irony is that to get an even border around your image you have to select borderless, sounds crazy doesn't it? LOL I'd recommend once you are happy with your borders, create a new preset template in Lightroom's print module so you can just simply select that next time you want to print to the same dimensions 😉

Hi Jose, how are you? I hace a canon pixma pro 10, and a macbook pro. All my prints come out with margins. The margin on the button is larger. In my settings, i choose no margins, but they come with margins anyway. In my print settings, where you see the preview of the image, I can see this margins, but I can change them. I would love to attach or send you a photo so you can see it.
Thank you very much for reading this. You always helped me so much. I couldn't have come so far with my print without you tutorial videos haha. Thank you!

A couple of issues which you didn't point out. In LR (at least mine - Windows) when you change the paper size, before you can set a proper cell, you must exit the print module and re-enter for LR to accept the new paper size. I had a lot of trouble trying to set a cell size before I came across that fact. Second, in Canon drivers (at least for the 2000 and 10) if you are not using a "standard" size paper you cannot set borderless. It will not accept it. So, if you have to set a custom size, you can't do it this way. And finally, you could just set your margins manually. For example, for a 16" on 17" paper, your margin should be 0.5" on both sides. Then you don't have to go to borderless, but can work from the normal settings. And I don't use settings like expand to fit because I don't know what Canon is doing behind my back. If you make the original image the size you want, you shouldn't need to do so.

I guess you are on a Windows machine. My Lightroom Page Set Up looks nothing like that on a Mac. And QImage is also totally different. I find the the Mac version almost unusable. A friend uses it on his old Windows machine and it's superb. In fact that's the only reason he keeps his Windows PC. Everything else he does on Mac.
