Urgot - Before the Rework

Old Urgot may not have been "good" but he was fun. Absolutely loved the homing Qs. And the Ult yeah kinda weird but SOOOO many good plays with it; from getting away to pulling people into the turret range. Kind of wish they had legacy mode for champs in custom games just to scratch that itch of playing an old champ.

Actually he wasn't garbage he was super ridiculously overpowered at one time and they nerfed him into the ground made him unplayable and made it to where an Aram he was never on the roster because he was so overpowered. After nursing him into the ground they still kept the unplayable in a ram because they wanted people to forget about them while they figured out something to do with him

old urgot was very hard counter to some champions tho, like draven katarina where you can easily lock onto them when they go grab axe or knife . It was extreme hard counter to katarina she can never use her r on him and he was easily outranging her while also having shield if she ever get close. I used to play him vs katarina back in day alot

When my friend started league, we would duo urgot and heimerdinger in bot lane. It was absolutely devastating.

Urgot was a really good lane bully, and heim made him incredibly safe - but ulting someone into the center of 3 turrets was almost always a win

I ranked as Urgoth (and old yorick), and it was the best feeling in the world when you destroy the new champions and they just said in all chat "WTF IS THAT CHAMPION"

Bad at lane but perfect against everything.

He's on the same case as Aurelion or Skarner. People who don't even play them want it to be reworked ignoring how good players who main them are. So, the reworks (no matter if they're good or not) are asked by people who don't even know how to play them.

There was a small window before his rework where Urgot became an ultimate killing machine. I remember his popularity exploded because he could 3 shot almost every single carry in the game and he was impossible to run away from

I loved playing old Urgot anywhere, but as a support it hit different. You had lots of moderate utility for your adc that allowed them to stay alive against most of the assassins, thanks to your ultimate and passive. The slow from your W was decent and the armor shred from E helped to amplify their damage. The coolest part was the laning, though. I was going Q > E > Q just to get a hit on the enemy adc with E and then spam my Q until they would get kicked out of lane. It mostly didn't result in a kill, but kicking the enemy adc out of the game so early on was pretty good. Then it was easy to pick up kills by level 6 and I can remember that ultimate's range going higher by each level on it, to the point of way more range than a flash. You could simply click on the enemy adc on any teamfight and they would get thrown into your team while you were fearing theirs and receiving some resistances. I hope I could play him again with the new support items like the AD version of spellthief

Old Urgot was a really good champion. There was no way they can say it had unhealthy gameplay, but they said it anyway. They just didn't want a champion that can poke and tank at the same time, and I feel dumb about them. It would be better if the new one was added as a new champion

Old league (s3-4) (champions as well) was better for the people that isn't try hard/complainer andies. It was simplier and fun. Didn't play Urgot so much back then. But old Mordekaiser was one of my favorites.

Urgot was my first main champion back in season 2, and even before muramana was a thing he was one of the only champions that could actually make tear of the goddess work (and obviously, he needed it.)

Small side note, Urgot actually couldn't squeeze in a 4th Q at max CDR until Riot added the +5% cdr cap rune allowing you to reach 45% cdr. Before that, his cooldown was just barely too long for a 4th Q, even at 40% cdr.

And yes, black cleaver was the absolute dream item for him. But you know what else was? Hextech gunblade, due to the spell vamp allowing him to heal from his cross-lane Qs. It was a much simpler game back then - being able to heal from your spells dealing damage was a rarity and considerable luxury usually reserved for the rare champion that could build spell vamp items and use them effectively, such as old Mordekaiser.

Urgot was my main before the rework and got me to Master :) Since then i struggled to get another main or find one who has like the same mechanics and carry potential.... feelsbadman

I remember playing him days before rework.. Wish they left his old kit but r after that... He was pretty strong and could bully you outa lane

I think I saw less pre reword trundles than urgots

I tried to main urgot back in the early days because if how hated he was. He was so fun.

Prerework Urgot was my main. Loved this champ. Kiting with slows, lobbing Q’s from million miles. When they added the fear on the ult, I felt all my posts about Urgot failing off to be answered with the increased auto missile speed.

I remember being proud finding a bug with Muramana consuming mana on wards and seeing Surrender at 20 for a bug fix.

It's dumb but I just miss being able to deal combos with the old q and old e and some autos

As a main old and New Urgot, i really miss the feeling of homing Q upon a out of vision Teemo , hiding, scared, in bushes.
More over, i was in love with his ugliness ! From that days i've decided to only main ugly champions like Urgot, Trundle and Yorick.

And for those who knows, Yes I was using P2W Cragbot skin 😏

I used to play damage reduc urgot with exhaust and an item wich used to reduces oponent damages coupled with ult for a guaranteed trade it was hella funny

I remember picking up old Urgot because my friends would always meme him as a ridiculous ugly looking piece of shit, then I realized he had a pretty defined place as an anti carry. Had so many laughs with my friends because of Q's killing stealthed people anyway and carrying with the most outdated looking clown in the game, and of course inting with the ult, aaaah good times

edit: i dont play urgot anymore sadly, i enjoyed his quirkyness a lot and the new version just doesnt do it for me. mayb i should try him again..

ahh, the old league - so much better it was, sad that they have made it so visually different and effect heavy. I do not enjoy playing it anymore, but at least have good memories from past.

We are missing Katarina/akali reworks, hope you will get to them one day. RIP HEART OF GOLD AND AP YI

I miss old urgot, it was my ultimate counter to fizz mid, he couldn't dive me or I'd lock him with my R and the shield + overall chunckyness of urgot made it impossible for him to OS me as I pumeled him with E,Qs and basic attacks during trades and farming.
Now I can't play him anymore :x

His old ult may not have synergized with his kit very well, but a point-and-click instant suppress will always be useful. There's a reason they've removed nearly all of those types of abilities.

I liked old urgot just because he was such a freak, but the new one is more scarier and imposing, wich I really love. To me the rework was really cool and gave him a role and made him playable, one of the most effective reworks until today

I miss the old Urgot.
I hate when reworks destroy everything the original stands for. The absolute satisfaction of hitting a single skillshot and getting to spam someone to death for it was so much fun, and then the carnage ultimate that lets you control entire teamfights by inting into their carry and dispositioning them.

All the champs I really like have been getting garbage reworks that added unnecessary minigames or puzzles to them. I still wonder why Nunu's ability to provide movement speed and attack speed was considered a problem at all for Riot since they put it into the most selfish PvP part of his kit.

I loved it pre-rework, along with mordekaiser, swain and fiddle. RUshing tear and BC then full cdr i could E Qx4 an kill anyone solo with the teleguided missile

Old urgot was a beast slows you down from long range ice gauntlet thing and a back range support and kill confirm ultimate in team fights

I dont play leauge anymore, and haven't for several years, but when I did, Urgot was my main, and I was devastated when I learned of this rework.

Old urgot was so fun to play, and I loved his old model. he looks too clean now

I miss old Urgot. I only got into him to see what would get removed (I was pretty new so I hadn’t played him). His homing Q was weird and fun. I was a huge fan of jungle Urgot because of course I jungled him. New Urgot isn’t anything like the new one, other than being a short range, beefy ranged champ. I do miss his grotesque ugliness

I've been an urgot main since season 3. Although I'm not playing league anymore, When I tried his post-rework, he felt more complete and I didn't have vague problems when building him. I also totally agree that his original kit was preserved in his rework.

I was an old urgot main, super sad when my champ got reworked. Teemo main now lol.
