A Magnetar is like a cold gas giant planet. If you were on the surface you would die in about a half dozen ways simultaneously though much faster on the Magnetar, you would be squished into atoms, burned, irradiated, suffocated and spread across the surface in an impossibly thin sprinkling of sub atomic particles like a cheese spread. If you fell from a distance of 100 m if you somehow managed to remain whole when you hit that surface you would hit it at a significant percentage of the speed of light.

I do not know from where scientists got impression centers of galaxies losing their gravity and vanishing in the dark space?
