AMD 7900XT & 7900XTX Review and Benchmarks!

Would the 7900 XT be a good enough graphics card to run starfield Doom eternal Ark survival ascended and those are pretty much the games I'll be playing other than the older fallout games along with like the older dragon age games and for reference The CPU I chose was the AMD Ryzen 7 7800 X3D

i havent ran team red since GeForce became a product line. idk what to do im looking around and i just cant seem to find what i want in a gpu match what i want to pay.

After about a year into this generation, Nvidia GPU prices are still terrible in terms of value to performance value. Now that we have a good gut estimation for GDDR7 GPU releases, I believe it is safe to say, buying high end GPUs now is quite safe for the next 2-3 years. If you are not die hard into 4k gaming with ultra RT, you get much better bang for the buck with AMD GPUs. The fastest most expensive 4090s will be 2.5x the price of a top notch 7900 XTX (Sapphire Nitro+), but you will only get 25-50% more FPS depending on the application, which is bad for 2.5 times the price...

Another thing worth mentioning, is the fact that AMD is way ahead in the CPU game, and I think both Intel and AMD will begin to design their own CPUs to work well with their own GPUs (which will give AMD a massive boost over Nvidia). However, that's probably speaking of another 5 years at least to manifest.

Either way, I hope Nvidia will be encouraged to make their GPU prices reasonable in the gaming sector.

I was planning to get 4070 ti but instead got my hands on a xfx 7900 xt, i have this card for a week now, i don’t regret my decision at all, this card is one of a kind! it’s cheaper than 4070 ti but it outperforms 4080 and it’s close to 4090 in some games!!

You didn't throw the GPU at the wall and make a dad-noise, gonna have to dock points for that on your substitute Jay review sheet.

It’s actually really hard to get on camera and do a good job. People watch these videos and take it for granted that it’s really hard. Great job, especially for someone who usually is behind the camera.

my merc 310 xfx 7900 rx xt 20 gb vram and the xfx on it lights up white light only

The AMD sure quite looks good against the 4080 but as soon as you compare with DLSS there’s no contest anymore. DLSS looks way better than FSR and yes I have both cards in 2 systems.

I wonder why my 7900 XTX timespy extreme score is 12k. cpu 7800X3D.

After my GPU Ventus 3X RTX Geforce 3070Ti from MSI im getting a AMD 7900 XTX

I would like to ask a question, I am considering in purchasing the 7900xtx but what would be the best combo of Motherboard, CPU and Ram for it. I would mention I am a driver in the title Iracing and the up and coming Rennsport. Thanks for your time and effort in advance. I am also running triple 32 inch monitors.

I never really got the hate for the 7900XT. Other than the price, it’s a great card and can handle 4k pretty well.

ok... buying a 4090 is just absurd... $1600 is way too much, even if you're a billionaire (ok, maybe not.. LOL)... benchmarks??? who cares??? whats the difference between an average of 200 fps versus an average of 180 fps??? is the game in question going to look and play that much different??? NO, its not... i guess i'm one of those people who actually value and care about my money...

Is I7-11700k good for those GPUs?

Warzone 2 pulls 15.4gb vrm on 1440p max settings and 4080 have 16gb.. imagine in 2 years games will prob pull above 16gb 1440p and then 4080 will be to weak. I would rather go for 7900xt than 4080

drivers for 69xx has to be installed on racel and Clank. as a warring before you starting up with outh dated drivers.

waiting for nvidia 5090 and 8xxx amd cpu from 9 th - 13 are still no big deal. 14 th are maybe better in benchmarks. but running a exel are overkill.

Anyway, I just happened to notice that Hardware Unboxed took a fresh look at the 7900XT - at least to see how the improved drivers and price cuts over these past few months impact the overall value compared to Nvidia. The XTX? Not so much, considering that the price hasn't budged and really all you see on the market anyway are custom partner models, and not reference designs, which of course keep the price up. Would be interesting to see if Phil would like to revisit as well.

So my dilemma is which 7900xt do I get? There are like 7 of them

I’m a 3d artist and I use unreal engine for rendering using path tracing. Currently I use a rtx2070. I care a lot about additional vram, would you suggest me an xtx? Will I notice major improvements?

All sounds pretty good, but I’m gonna stick with my 6900XT for the time being. Probably look to upgrade next gen, and from the sound of it I’ll probably have to upgrade my CPU as well.

Will my cpu be the bottleneck for the rx 7900 xtx?
I'm thinking between rx 7900xtx, rx 7900 xt and rx 6950xt.
What graphics would you recommend for me with this processor, without bottlenecks at 1440p?

Hey guys, just a quick question. I'm upgrading from a Asus 3070 OC to a 310 merc rx 7900 xtx.

Thing is I have a ryzen 5 5600x currently. Now I can totally afford to get a 5900x as it's on sale for half the price.

Hypothetically, would I be better off staying with the 5600x? Or will the 5900x be the better choice? 5900x being the highest chip I can put in my MB.

I've already ordered the 5900x. I'm just curious, honestly 😂.

I was planning on getting a 7900XT for 1440p gaming but it sounds like my 3700X may be underpowered for it.

Lol all of this is fine and dandy until a game like Jedi survivor destroys all high end cards 😂.

Right now since 4080 became the 4070ti now but these radeon vid cards are now within 1% with ray tracing on, it seems every driver update the Radeons get better, can't be said about Nvidia

its a great time to be a hardware enthusiest. i'm still waiting on the prices to drop more. given how intel joined the fight with arc, i'm guessing that will have an impact on both this generation and next as they attempt to compete against the other two competitors. if i were to grab one this generation i'd prolly look at the 7900xt. so far i've seen them as low as the $700s.

Just finished upgrading all my hardware outside of my 2080 super. As i want to experience a need for a new videocard and i suspect September/october is going to be the time. This is probably what ill go for...
Also because my new CPU is the ryzen 7900x and i like seeing numbers double 😂

Already fit an xtx into my corsair 4000d airclow case. Amazing card. Wont have to worry about texture size and resolution while i have this card :)

Happy with it.
Meant I could put 200 more Euros to other Stuff. So I got the 7950x instead of 7900x :P

Also HDR doesn't change the game performance so you can remove it from your infoscreen.
