How to Change your Gmail Password.

What I really need to know is how to change a password for an individual email address within gmail but all the instructions online show only how to change the master password for google. One of my Google email addresses is used as coordinator for our sporting association and I have to hand this off to someone else (I have resigned the position) but I don't want the new person to know the current password so need to change it to something else before handing it over. How is this done? Given the lack of response on others asking this question I don't expect much of one myself and perhaps Google doesn't even know the answer.

If you have separate gmail accounts and you've been compromised or suspect you've been compromised ... should you create new passwords for each gmail account or does that 1 new GOOGLE account apply to each separate gmail account?
