Beautiful ax in the end however I don't understand why not bevel and fill for the broken tip. The flush fit butt joint and grind leaves little weld and nothing connecting it on the interior... Makes the amazing work tempering and quenching it a moot point. Appearance is perfect and handle is wonderful. Kept true to the original handle style with removable head.

That's cool I never seen one in up close and so this pickaxe was just used in from the time-line period in ww2 the tench pickaxe itself was carried on side armor vehicles to dig tenchs in the Battle of Bulge for making are called fox's holes
