Dude this is probably the worst game I've ever played. I literally ran around for 20 minutes in a Jungle and couldn't find a single rock to make a tool. I literally died looking for a rock. I'm so pissed I wasted $25 on this atrocious game holy shit it's bad bad

Is Green Hell better than the Forest?

Cons: it's not a finished game and it breaks and ruins hours of gameplay...

Often the games that try to be 'realistic' are the least realistic. I mean they force you to say eat or drink a minimum every day or you die. Well, in real life, humans can go weeks without food and a few days without water so nothing realistic about starving every 12 hrs... And infections could take weeks or months to kill you, here, you are probably dead in a day or 2. So there is nothing realistic about realistic survival games. They just want to annoy you with complicated survival mechanics.

I played this game almost since release, way before Story Mode was added. Now i haven't played it in a year, but in my opinion it's one of the best survival games i ever played, right up there with The Forest and Subnautica. The building part, survival mechanics and overall gameplay is great. The atmosphere is beautiful, the story is good and exciting, and the addition of co-op is very nice. The whole experience has a very spiritual and psychedelic vibe, it almost seems like a place from my dreams. And sometimes it really feels like i've visited the Amazon rainforest, everything feels surreal.

My only complaints are; the game goes too fast, days are too speedy and you're constantly hungry, thirsty and tired. You can change this in the difficulty settings, but then it becomes too easy. I wish the time was much longer and slower so it all balances out. Also, even though the building mechanics are great, getting materials can be extremely tedious and tiring. I've gotten many headaches just by trying to build things haha..

Tip: the best place in the game for building a settlement is on the island in the middle map. (at least it was the last time i played)
This island is decently sized, adequate to build a nice fort for multiple people. There is enough space for farms and stuff. It's safe from all predators and tribals (except an occasional alligator that spawns from the water but you can block him with walls), And since the island is in the middle of all the maps, you can reach any direction pretty quickly. And most importantly, the island is beautiful :) And there are some backpacks with food, which was glitched and everyday the food respawned hahah.. After some time i had hundreds of cans :D
But in order to get to this island you need to start Story Mode, but never finish the story.

if devs can make the EAs work like in just released Sons of Forest, that would be awesome

its a copy of The Forest. i mean, all games copy some aspects of other games. but this one is just too OBVIOUS. from Natives, to crafting, building, even the damn radio looks the same. its basically The Forest then modified to make some improvements. would have been nice except they ARE ALSO missing some improvements. last time i saw this you cant build floors.

Got this game years ago not long after release. Put it down pretty quickly but liked the concept. Went back to it around a year ago and decided I'd stick through the learning curve and it was worth it the game is very enjoyable you get sucked into the world in a way not many survival games have that I've played. However I will comment on the story. I think the story itself is pretty alright, but the way they told it, through psychadelic far cry like story telling seemed like a cop out to me and was very repetitive. And there was one or two times it took me literal hours to figure out how to get to an objective, that may be intentional but either way that's a pretty bad design. Besides that it was a very fun play.

It took me a long time to survive past 4 days but after dying to everything in the game I'm good enough to one shot big cats and feel much safer in my bone armor. I think once you have the mechanics down and get a good run started, the game opens up a lot. I felt that stranded deep was pretty good and above the forest in terms of survival mechanics, but stranded deep felt like a bunch of mini areas spread out across large spaces of nothing whereas the forest seemed to have more content and variety packed in its much smaller play space. The forest is a really good survival horror game but I think obtaining food, water and meds is way too easy and the bigger focus seems to be on defending yourself against the enemies. Green hell is a better survival game than both because it really feels like a race trying to gather all the necessary resources before it's too late

Just a comment: This is not so great to listen to. You seem to have edited away all the pauses in your talking. Sounds annoying after a minute.

Game is great, just wish they had a system with objectives that you have to walk to because oyu can get lost easily,
Plus: spiders are the hardest enemy since most spiders in this game are those trap door brazilian wandering spiders
