What a babe he was on my top three celebrity hunks. I always thought he was a babe much better looking than Robert Redford in the movies Butch Cassidy and the Sundance kid, amongst all other movies.❤ heartthrob❤ what a loyal, after being married to the same woman all those years. A little remembered Newman film is worth watching - 'Never Give an Inch' based on the novel 'Sometimes a Great Notion' by Ken Kesey (who wrote '...Cuckoo's Nest'. )

The moment you said that Newman starred with Willis in The Verdict, I just burst out laughing ! Willis was an extra that had a shot from a distance in the courtroom.. barely viable.

This movie allowed Newman to explore his Jewish heritage.
Excellent history of the situation that the Jews fleeing Europe after WWII had to endure.
Eva Marie Saint was excellent in her role.

Hard to take exception to any of the movies on this list, and I don't, The man has just made so damn many great movies. My personal favorite is a film called "Nobody's Fool" with Bruce Willis. Just a wonderful movie and also features the final screen appearance of Jessica Tandy.

Hollywood tall tales: Vivien Leigh being discovered during the burning of Atlanta (David O. Selznick was interested in her months before), Audrey Hepburn rejecting Otto Frank's request to play his daughter in "The Diary of Anne Frank" (Audrey was 29 at the time and Anne Frank had died at age 15), Mike Todd's plane crashed on the very first day that "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" started filming (Cat started filming on March 6, 1958 and Todd's plane crashed almost 3 1/2 months later), and so on.

Absence Of Malice was one of my favorites. Hombre was my favorite Paul Newman movie and one of my top westerns.

Cat on a hot tin roof… Best play to movie adaptation ever!… OK… Shared billing with Brando in streetcar named desire. Same writer, though… No Tennessee Williams these days… Henry Miller… Those were the GoldenEra of playwrights.
