My first thoughts about that base was also if they would just go on top and smash down thru the roof. The same goes for the electric fence. Would give so much advantage of this base when looking on time to repair blades and fences. And Definetly some hatches where you stand.
You should try the 1 I have build in my solo. Day 7000 would be a fun night.

There is some kind of mod that adds extensive caves to worldgen, but due to the support mechanics, a lot of the caves tend to collapse quickly. I saw someone play through a mod that added caves and then covered the surface in 12-15 feet of snow. Large areas tended to collapse randomly.

That base is great for not getting xp lol. Also great for poor placement, lack of spike traps and lack of electric fences as mentioned. Yes, blade traps suck, really need to rethink this base design

I've seen this so many times, when something unexpected happens, a player loses his cool and starts blasting wildly. Don't tense up, headshots will solve everything, if you can keep your scrotum from retracting long enough to shoot straight.

Also, setting days to 7000 doesn't do anything but display a big red number to impress dummies.

The blades broke so quickly because you didn't repair them? You pointed out you -could-repair them from below but I didn't see you once repair them. I think it is a really good set up and if someone is below to ahem, repairing
the blades it would be fine, add's just enough scare into the situation as well as you don't lose bags.

Hmm. Might be better to just use a switch rather than motion sensor.

Remove 2 ladder treads from lowest ladder to prevent zombies climbing up, to climb up ladder is to jump passed 2 missed ladder treads.

That is a great idea. Well worth working on.

Adding electric fences would increase the wear on the start end blades, as opposed to spreading the wear along the lot. Makes repairing less manic. I'm a fan of fences but can see the logic in wearing down zombies that way (if you have enough traps setup)

I need help - I put Ore Extractor and Oil Refinery and now when I go back to the base, it turns off the game. Does anyone know how to fix this. HELP

I love the relative simplicity of it. I would use electric fence wire instead.

Looking at the design, I THINK the builder intends the defender to stand in the lower tunnel only. And shoot up through the slits & repairing.

Best part is when you effed yourself and died in the concussion.

I made a different iteration of this base.

It was a tower on top of which there was my main base and around that tower there was a spiraling one full of blade traps and dart traps.
In that one i would be staying a floor above the main action of the horde and repair the blade traps from above.

It had only three flaws, high material cost, high power needed and sometimes radioactive spider would survive enough to com up to me.

This base is designed for the player to be under the path using a nailgun and forged steel, no guns, molotovs or grenades, just the nailgun and forged steel.

This is my older bros base this design with just 6 blades and 2 electric fences works perfectly I used it in wastelands on insane nightmare, as for the sensor it was 1 block too low that's why you shot it, I use tripwire at the entrance built into the wall for safety on mine
