The Secrets of the Archon War [Genshin Impact Theories]

We always talk about what happened in the archano Goro, but my question was who was the first god to win the archon war because as far as I heard that war lasted for many years, I think

My theory is that Celestia wanted 1 Archon representing each element and Celestia representing an element too (unknown yet)

Back in the day, Morax and Ei can as well be archons of war aside from murata. Nowadays, Zhongli can also be the god of wisdom. I view Rex Lapis as a hybrid archon.

A part of me wonders if the reason so many gods were slain during the Archon War is due to Celestia wanting more control over the happenings in Teyvat. If there were a large number of gods it would be more difficult for them to keep control with there being more likelihood of some of the gods rebelling. It would explain why the only time we see a gnosis is for the gods that were victorious in the war - one per element and only held by one god each. The gnosis isn't the gods' source of powers after all - but how the connect to Celestia. Celestia already faced a threat of being overthrown (and possibly was overthrown) by the Second Who Came.

Tldr; Archon War may have been Celestia's attempt to cull any possible questioning/rebellious gods from Teyvat to further secure their position and ensure some form of allegiance from most of the victors.

I don't know how Celestia convinced the gods that a gnosis was worth killing each other for (maybe they actually threatened them?), but I believe their objective was to keep the nations in check regarding the Heavenly Principles. So they didn't have to throw nails on them anymore
However that failed too since there was one humans nation which wasn't under the 7's dominion (Khaenri'ah)

I think the Archon war was to hide keys. Yes, keys known as gnosis. Chess pieces. In some beliefs chess was to explain a trial in one or many peoples lives like extermination or a war. And you had to challenge God to chess when you completed those trials. Wouldn't be the first time anything anime based has done.

I'm going to go with Theory One. Celestia pit the gods against each other to dwindle their numbers so less would rise against Celestia themselves. XD

The theory of Celestia choosing there will be only 7 Nations can be easily proven wrong with the existence of Khaenri'ah which was Teyvat's oldest Nation.

The Archon war, as stated by Nahida ( during the Samsara loop), was the war against the 7 seats. Basically the story of the " one who came" and determined the current 7 Archons ( also mentioned in Xiao's profile). Another interesting fact is that Tsaritsa is ( most likely) NOT one of the original seven either. 7 archons, 7 hypostases, Electro, Anemo, Geo and Dendro have signs of corrosion, while Cryo, Hydro and Pyro are unscathed, as if the correspondent archon is "new".

I have a question are the elements of the vision connected to the archons? (1)Because back when there was a lot of archons there was different types of powers like we have the salt goddess or the scarlet king and other more so if those gods r alive would that mean that it would be possible for us to have those powers or would it only be possible if the archons were connected to celestia. (2) second why did they have an archon war again.(3) third what were the archons made of or how were they made also why is their power connected to their people.(4) fourth there’s other creatures stronger or atleast on par with the archons why aren’t they gods why is it only the archons and did the other creatures ever able to connect to celestia. (5) fifth why did the archons started to be birthed and why did they overthrow the dragons.

The last one is the one I believe the most. But a small correction, Phanes CREATED the human realm, Teyvat. Before them, it was the Light Realm (Vishaps) and the Void Realm. (Abyss)

It is possible that Celestia's goal simply to find the strongest (both physically and mentally) to fill up the seats that were empty (very questionably)

The sages believe that Rukhadevata had some kinda infinite source of knowledge through which she could solve any problems and come up with solutions for Akademic breakthroughs, but from the Archon quest Ch 3 act 1 and 2 we were shown how the first sage obtained his knowledge. Even if in a dream he gained his knowledge through various experiences which might be thecase for Rukhadevata also. Same could be said for Morax because of the stone fumble he received from Guizhong, the only way for him to open it was to experiment and learn though he was never able to open it, i think his knowledge in all things comes from that.

What I'm trying to say here is that the Archon war served as Catalyst for many Gods to grow. War does serves as a great Catalyst for progress, same could be said Khenriah too (maybe), they're so advanced in their technology and khemia more so then any other nation because they also lived through the Archon war WITHOUT a God to save them.

Im pretty sure the traveler is an archon too, if not an archon then an adeptus, because before the traveler’s power was sealed away by the sustainer of heavenly principals, he/she (depending which character u picked) was using another element that wasnt one of the seven. Not to mention he/she was living when Khaenri’ah was destroyed. That was at least a few hundred years.

Indeed, Primodial One took over Teyvat. Knowing he cannot have control over those gods, he open the 7 sits in order to keep things in check.

My theory is simple and not long and u sorta already said it. My theory is that the in each of these 7 regions there were 7 different tournaments that are won through Political, religious, and power factors and influence.

i strongly adhere to the 3rd and 4th theory. As mentioned in Rex incognito, the pre-Archon War Teyvat was a mish-mash of many different tribes, each with their own personal gods. The Second Celestia probably thought that it is not enough to purge the civilizations of the First Celestia, they also need to have something to replace them to solidify their rule and "The Seven" format, most likely inspired by the Seven Sovereigns, seems like a sensible choice as any. So they let elemental beings fight amongst themselves and after a millennia of internecine conflicts the Original Seven rose as the victors.

Celestia needed control, Archons are pawns placed strategically where they need, To spread control over the stretch of lands. When a civilization has met it's mark or gone too far Celestia not only had surplus power to do as they need to control the land but also a nice little archon to hide behind. The traveler leaving this world without being archons or god's themselves would be just another representation of humanity gone "too far". Though this time the primordial one for some reason felt inclined to handle this issue rather than someone else.

The good about that's is they will give us pyro archon before cyro and this may help when we fight cyro archon using her !, If murata turn very op and dps and better than hu tao so I will not have problem fight all fatuis harbingers with her

Im only halfway through the video and i think archons seats are filled by the god who is most ambitionate, the one celestia thought would be most entertaining to watch as the archon did as it heart told it to. Morax to hold firm after the loss of his lover. Venti after he lost everyone who stood for freedom. Raiden going through times of changes, these are all things that ended up forging who they were and how they ruled, did celestia plan for it to be like this? Did they see a future where these archons are forged from conflict and chaos

I was thinking what Celestial could do like gladiators, make them fight on their own whims. since in the manga Celestia for Vanessa looks like a prison....

Speaking of archons, does anyone remember in which in-game dialogue that told us about Anemo and Geo being the only original of the seven who are still alive?

that maybe it isnt a coincidence who won the war, and that some had help from celestia and that might be the secret some archons are hidding

i dont really believe celestia let the gods fight fairly seeing how stupid it is, and i doubt the game will end and venti wont just come and say "so yeah i lied, i didnt win the war fairly" or something xd

Tbh, I feel that the Archon War even happened was caused by the way Celestia is pulling the strings behind the scenes. I don't feel like Celestia opened the seven seats with good purposes. Knowing what Celestia has done, I have once theorized that Celestia is resided by imposter who were pretending to be the Primordial One as Celestia had a sudden 180° turn after the invasion of the Second Who Came occured. I'd say that the third theory looks more likely to be the context of the Archon War at the time as Celestia couldn't allow anyone to know too much about it's truth, thus throwing an immense instability within Teyvat. Maybe Celestia wanted to put pressure on the archons by having them take on a heavy responsibility. Maybe Celestia tried to break the power if all the gods were in fact all harmonized and ruling together on Teyvat, forming one single civilization. Maybe it's a way for Celestia to throw away gods so as to impose more of its power. More likely, Celestia could be doing everything they can to prevent anyone from knowing the truth. Moreover, there was something suspicious about their names. It was said that their real names are the ones they had as demons. However it seemed weird to me as Zhongli apparently already uses the name he is currently using as proved by the origin of the name of the Guili plains (it's a mix of the characters belonging to Guizhong and Zhongli respectively, exactly seen in Chinese too). Ei and Makoto are also referring each other as such instead of using their demon names. As of Venti, he was only a small wind spirit whose name hasn't been mentioned. The name Venti itself means wind. It seems as if Celestia is the one attributing the names of the archons by the demon reference. Thus, the archons who haven't known each other until the end of the Archon War would only recognize each other by their demon names

Basing it from your last theory, it could also be about control. 7 gods for each element are probably easier to control and keep in check than dozens or even hundreds of gods

I say that Celestia grow to fear that too many gods have been wondering tyvat and might go against them. So they open the seven position to get rid of the other gods and leave the 7 archon victors under their contract/command (?)

Having a Gnosis means you get a free powerup no one else can get, so conflict is expected. What the Archons didn't know is that the Gnosis is some kind of contract, basically giving Celestia full control over you. So Celestia got to 1. eliminate possible threats and 2. control those who were left. The only individuals capable of doing anything against Celestia were shackled and anyone else strong enough to ascend to Celestia are imprisoned (Vanessa). Celestia clearly isn't invincible since they wouldn't be doing these things if they were.

It felt like a Hunger Games where everyone is participant.
