Is Yamaha PSR-E373 Still Worth Buying? 1 Year Ownership Review

Hi, thanks for the amazing videos!!
As a beginner, buying my first keyboard, should i go with Yamaha PSR- E373 or Casio CT S1?
Or is there any other keyboards to consider at this price range?


I'm confused, help please.

I have zero keyboard/piano knowledge, but I am a recording guitarist - will this do a 70s style organ sound ala Jon Lord of Deep Purple? I would love to incorporate that sound in my original music. Thanks in advance!

Hey Jeremy, do u ever encounter a problem with E373 such as when playing a c major chord but it plays a G7 chord instead and when playing a F chord, it plays A minor chord instead. This is frustrating, as i dont know how to go about in solving this issue.

I'm a singer/songwriter guitarist who has always wanted to take up the piano. The sounds that are in this that was demonstrated by your videos helped to pick this one out. Best deal for the price range. The first thing I'm learning is Jump by Van Halen. Which one is better E373 or i400?

The grand piano is good but the honky tonk is total rubbish! I play blues and jazz and this is just not good enough>

What will happen On the sound If I Upgraded the Speakers from 4.5 Watts to 8Watts???

One thing I would suggest anyone buying any piano whither 61, 76, 88 key. Make sure it comes with a stand and sustain pedal. You will need them. Even if you travel around a lot. Plus you need them to be hands free with no risk of slipping off you lap. Posture is going to be important practicing long hours. I just found this out. Good thing I bought them, just have not arrived yet.

Can midi be sent out via usb and audio back to the PSR via usb?
For example, using an ipad with a synth app, is it possible to play the synth app with the PSR (via midi over usb) and then route the synth apps audio output over usb to the PSRs speakers?
I can't find this specific case in the manual.

Does the piano have jazz mode and electric piano mode? Those r my favorite

Is the 473 in terms of sound quality itself better than 373? It seems the enhancement is mostly not sound/keyboard-touch themselves. Right?

I just purchased this keyboard yesterday to go along as an extra keyboard to an organ. I was most interested in the piano and strings but also instrumental sounds like trombone, sax, etc. I have a way to go before I really understand this instrument. The sound is good (I have external speakers from a previous keyboard) I had to manually go through 600 sounds to find the number of instruments and sounds that I would be most interested in. This should come with a list and next will be to go through the thythms. In my opinion besides the obvious good ones they could have lowered the number as some are dublicates and some to me are unmentionable. I am looking foreward to learning
how to set the presets and tackle listening to different thythms. I think in the end I will be happy with this instrument.

is it true that it only has 2 tracks to record? I dont get it

Thanks for this review. I'm a semi-professional player looking for something on the go. For stage playing, is it possible to do presets with those numbered buttons and then layer them? I see this keyboard can also connect to host through usb. That is a plus!

I got the PSR-E373 a week ago and it feels nice and all but today i went into a music store and had a chance to touch the more expensive ones. And damn, the p45 feels so nice in comparison that I'm already on the fence of upgrading. I stood there touching the weighted keys for like 5 minutes because of how satisfying it felt. My PSR-E373 now feels like a cheap toy in comparison. It feels like it's geared more towards DJs to mess around with all the funky voices at the pool party while p45 is a more serious approach to learning the piano. Now wonder people can't stress enough to get P45 as the gateway into piano.
