When you build this for tour shop .go ahead make a couple small rest same way with out the clamp for longer pipe..it comes in very handy

Now use Cordless Ratchet with the appropriate socket size...

Why not just buy a vise?

Nice work. However, I've never had an vice not hold round stock. Especially if you get one with a pipe clamp.

I was lucky enough to find an old plumbers vise at an auction for $3. It's ok, I got an idea watching the vid for something else.

Rather than that silly bloody band saw, why not just cut the parts with a grinder and slitting disk 😄

I used to do similar stuff as you. If I could give my younger self advice I would say "buy a fein slugger metal chop saw today"...Not only does it cut perfectly square and cool, it has a pipe/square tube vise attached. It cuts way better than a metal band saw. I have made over 1000 cuts on the first blade and still going. Saves SO much time. Also, mount your metal band saw in a vertical stand. Safer and more useful. I made mine but u can buy them.
