Apart from her statement on women being inferior to men, I loved her opinions and thought process and the way she interprets the world around her. She’s a very strong intelligent woman, but it’s sad to see even the smartest and strongest of women fell prey to the wrong teachings. It’s not their fault of course, since it’s the kind of conditioning they grow up with and so did their parents and their grandparents. So those ideas, opinions, and teachings transcend the generations. It has been taught to us that women are inferior to men by these molvis or so called scholars (not all of them are like this, there have been so many very good pakistani islamic scholars too with a wealth of knowledge). Allah has made it very very clear that both men and women are equal to Him. Nothing in Quran and Hadith depicts a woman as inferior; however, it’s a fact that man has been given a form and nature by Allah which is distinct from that of woman, it’s also a fact that the form and nature of man and woman is complementary. This indicates that the distinction in form and nature must not be equated with an intellectual pre-eminence on the part of man. Men have been given some duties and so did women. They’re different BUT equal. I urge everyone to do their own research, we have been taught so many wrong things which you’ll realize once you relearn Islam on your own.
