My wife told me that whenever I went out of town, the dog would pace around, whine, look at her quizzically and explore every corner of the house, then rinse and repeat. Then when I would call home, she would hold up the phone to his ear and I would talk to him and then he would relax, cause he figured I was stuck in that plastic thing again and he would see me when I got myself back out.
