Thank you for educating me on this topic
Ответитьdon't use metal turner's blaaaa ya you can , dont leave silicon in to long tho lol
ОтветитьOnly thing i disagree with is metal on the cast iron for cleaning. Ive been using chainmail to clean my chast irons for 15+ years and never have any issues
ОтветитьThat last part, as a restaurant worker, you only use metal utensils on cast iron. Always scrape the pan after use. Washing is done once a day but a cast iron griddle is scraped after each food and kept hot all day so it's sanitized. You season every day so it's not an issue. After a few times, you're only scraping food because the seasoning is so thick it would take a lot more work to scratch it.
Edit: this is the same for a cast iron grill. A grill should be scraped often and oiled each time.
Or dishsoap
ОтветитьI'll save this..😮
but I wanna know how to take the stink out of cast iron. And what do you wash it with. Mom kicked our butts if we even thought of using soap..
I took this as . Don't buy cast iron
ОтветитьI have used stainless steel chain mail to clean my cast iron. It’s always been good
ОтветитьOoops
ОтветитьNever scrape. Anything stuck to your cast iron you burn. Then wipe the char out. My mother would beat you with that skillet if you did those things to it. I remember the day my sister got to chatting on the phone when she was cooking bacon. OMG!
Ответитьwe don't need no stinking rules for cast iron
ОтветитьI pooped in an almost red hot cast iron skillet and boy let me tell ya it’s the best poop I ever felt and it tasted even better. Folks if ya want to clean it out you’re taking a lot of that seasoning off and your next meal won’t have that natural poop taste that we all crave like grannies home cookin.
ОтветитьWelp, this explains why my hamburger helper didn't turn out so very great when I used my dad's big cast iron skillet...
ОтветитьGit er good'n hot before ya dunk yer giblets in ther.
ОтветитьI made bbq beans on weber cast iron pot like 6 times or so. Didnt notice ANYTHING funny.
ОтветитьNever had an issue with pasta sauce in my pans. Though they are good and seasoned too.
I do agree with boiling water.. made that mistake ONCE.
😳 i thought cast iron and stainless steel was what i could use metal on why to they make metal spatulas🤣
ОтветитьCast iron is stupid. We have gone way past that by now.
ОтветитьSo a metal scour is a no no
Paper towel to spread oil leaves lint - use a cloth
Never use dish soap
Too many “rules” plus it’s too heavy for me. I’ll stick w stainless and coated pans.
ОтветитьWhy cowboys were marinara deficient….
ОтветитьWell then how the hell am i supposed to make my metal and bean chili with my new skillet? My in-laws are coming tomorrow bro...
ОтветитьShit
ОтветитьYou never make beans in cast iron? Isn’t a Dutch oven cast iron?
ОтветитьHmm, I use one of those metal chain-mail scrubbers on my cast-iron pans all the time. I also boil water in the smaller one to make poached eggs. The only rule I have when cleaning cast iron is no soap. I season it with olive or canola oil.
ОтветитьThanks .
ОтветитьWhat about your baby 👶?
ОтветитьStop spamming 🤮🤮
ОтветитьFood. You should never put food in your cast iron.
ОтветитьWhat about dish soap? I’ve heard mixed views on it
ОтветитьWell, i use chainmail to clean my cast iron skillet. No sharp edges so it doesn't ruin my seasoning that much and very good when i have stubborn burnt spots.
ОтветитьYou mispronounced “tomaters.”
ОтветитьI have a pan that my great great great grandmother gave my grandmother and the seasoning is roughly 80 years old. I’ll cry if I ever have to reseason it. That thing is smooth as glass and not even spaghetti will touch it.
ОтветитьI think I've had enough of diddling around with cast iron, I'm out, done.
ОтветитьHow do I season it?
Ответитьstudies show that humans got much of their iron requirements from using cast iron cookware. Keep it seasoned and cook what you want. Also get rid of any aluminum cookware; pots, pans, rice cooker insert. Use stainless steel which cooks better anyway.
Ответитьmy wife stacked a copper pan inside a cast iron skillet and the copper reacted with the iron. :(
ОтветитьI am going to go to scraping.😂
ОтветитьTuna fish!!❤
ОтветитьYou can boil water fine on cast iron uour seasoning should not come off with water omg. If your seasoning is coming off when you boil water in there then you didnt season properly.
ОтветитьElitist nonsense. Gotta get iron in your diet somehow with the price of meat these days
ОтветитьI done broke all the rules..😳
ОтветитьHonestly, I didn’t even think about boiling water. I never boil it like a pot, but sometimes I’d do a shallow boil to clean at the end. I noticed the wasn’t as good the next use. The more you know 🤦♂️
ОтветитьIn other words don't use cast iron
ОтветитьNo dish soap
ОтветитьNo dishwashing detergent either My beloved mamma said 💯💯👍👍😎🙏🙏
ОтветитьWhats point of cast iron pans then if you want to apply same logics as non stick pans
ОтветитьSounds like a space shuttle project 🤔😁😁😁😁
ОтветитьI do all of these things. Cast Iron is virtually impossible to ruin. Reseasoning isn't hard even though I rarely have to do it.
ОтветитьNonsense. Just because he speaks in a folksy country accent doesn’t mean he knows what he’s talking about
Ответить
