ОтветитьGot recommended here by a vaporwave podcast. What a bizarrely unique cross over between two hyper niche areas of knowledge. Are you a data scientist in your day job or is this just a bit of fun on the side for you? Either way, love this analysis and the results you've presented, even if it's not totally holistic the space is improved greatly by having analyses like these being created!
Ответитьsweet vid
Ответитьnice launch dude
Ответитьcongrats on reaching hacker news
ОтветитьSuper cool coverage. You hit the money. As a producer I don't feel nostalgic of 90s music at all, but feel very nostalgic for 90s computers. Since you talk about experimenting, I could see how I could contribute my unique experiences to the genre and it would probably vibe with others nicely too. Good discussion
ОтветитьI came here from the podcast. Glad to see this! Great work.
Ответитьthank you for the work =)
ОтветитьWhat an incredible video!! Well researched and an incredible look at an important, yet overlooked, part of vaporwave music and art.
Ответитьthis video essay was amazing and has inspired my own work and the ending was hilarious thank you so much for making this
only criticism is the soy facing in the thumbnail and you kinda just look like a woyjak just saying
anyways love the video and will be subscribing
coming back to this to add to the racism part, while obviously not overt racism a lot of vaporwave is jazz music sampled from black women, and usually entirely uncredited. take waterfront dining's "can't" for example. it's literally just "to tell you the truth" by sarah dash slowed down. they added literally nothing else to it and passed it off as their own.
ОтветитьIt feels like aspects of vaporwave are constantly on a rollercoaster of relevancy yet the over all idea of its sound continues to rise in popularity. I see this kinda confuse people when they hear “vaporwave is dead” their not wrong but there also not right
Ответить353rd view! you 1M+ mfs better be jealous!
Ответитьthis came up on my suggested so i wish u many views
ОтветитьNice vid man!
ОтветитьYeah
Ответитьthis is really well made and im excited to see more from you!
ОтветитьExcellent video, sir! It made me go back and look up simpsonswave. Not sure where that fits in the timeline or aesthetic, though.
ОтветитьThere’s likely a lot of influence for tutwave coming from the old Amiga computer “Deluxe Paint” box art as well. Here’s an asterisk for you *
