I am looking for a kinda 1 box setup and the Naïm uniti atom seems to fit perfectly that role. The hardest part is to find the good speakers to pair it with.
Do you have any list of the best pairing you’ve made since you got it ? Could be really nice, cheers !

classy/glossy is cool, but too many complaints about the Naim app quality with 2* rating in IOS App Store. Would you be able to comment on that, please?

I know this video is a little past its published date and I apologise for that ! I’m About to purchase The naim Unity Nova And im not an expert so do take that into consideration and I know that peoples tastes and opinions differ hugely but I am struggling to come to a decision on what speakers to get to go with it ! I haven’t really had a system that is separated as in separate speakers etc etc for a LOOOONNNGG TIME ! So I’m really a bit of a novice or just below that ! 🤦‍♂️ I previously always had just all in one pieces such as a muso etc etc so it is very new to me ! I’ve got probably up to 5-6 Thousand pounds sterling to spend so that probably equates to 7,500–8,000 US to spend , I want something that’s Able to take old vintage house type music but also something that is equally clear and precise with pink Floyd and Zeppelin so quite far apart markers! I just want to try to get it as correct as possible first time round , I am incredibly grateful for any Advice or suggestions so I at least no where to start as a minimum!

Andrew has a good ear and way of describing how this sounds. It does not sound hi-fi with high resolution or much air. But its not warm either. It just sounds right, and its hard to put your finger on how. Naim has its own sound that is not neutral, it's for music lovers. You get into the groove and stop analysing things. But I am just repeating Andrew...

Love the way you manage to convey how you feel about this unit in a way that connects personally and directly with the viewer. Great review, very enjoyable...and just bought one, so super excited ...

When comparing the Naim Uniti Atom and Marantz SR8015, it becomes evident that the Naim sound is less natural and more harsh. However, it provides better isolation for the instruments, thereby aiding in achieving greater clarity for each instrument in the song, reducing crosstalk between the sounds of the instruments, as well as providing greater resonance and extension to the sound of the instruments. As for the Marantz instrument, it is characterized by providing a natural sound without harshness, but it does not provide an echo or extension for the instruments like the Naim does, and it filters and isolates the instruments less clearly, causing some interference between them.

It's Naim. It's definitely not neutral. Enjoyable for a time. At least that's my experience.

I'm looking to collect a used one of these up this week at a very decent price. I'll be using it with my new Dali Opticon 2 mk2 speakers and was wondering if there were any particular speaker cables I should be using as I've read that Naim amplifiers can be a bit fussy on these?

Hi Andrew and Kristi. Excellent video as always. I like the look of the Uniti Atom a lot but my primary listen scenario is with a good set of headphones. I see Naim has released a Headphone Edition now. Have you had a hands on with this and is it something you can also recommend? Thank you.

Great review, i been using it since Jan-2021 paired it with Monitor Audio Gold 100 5G. I love the clarity and Dynamic it gives the music while listening. I usually listen at a volume of 40 (on the display readout) and its quite enough, turning it up to 50-55 it gives the feeling of having a pair of headphones on 😁
Was thinking of upgrading to the Naim Unit Nova, but i dont know if i have to unless i move to a bigger appartement.

Andrew, thank you so much. Based on your excellent review, I took the plunge and bought a Uniti Atom last week - I got a cracking deal with a 35% discount!. All I can say is wow!. When I set it up, I decided to play a Best of Bowie CD and selected "Changes" as the first test track. My wife was in the kitchen, and within 2 mins she was stood in the room with me with a grin on her face, commenting on how fantastic it sounded - I think her words were "it's so clear and clean sounding". I have to tell you, in 20 years of marriage, she has never once reacted to any new piece of gear I have set up - until now!. We then spent the whole night playing CD's and streams, and the sound just got better and better as it warmed up. It was like re-discovering my music collection all over again. One very happy Atom owner here.

Denon way cheaper. More power and have integrated HEOS with hi-res audio. Why shuld i buy this one?

Great review Andrew! I would love to hear what the Naim sounds like with my B&W 802s but I am automatically thinking it would need a heftier power amplifier , i.e thinking Bryston 4B3, what are your thoughts for a good pairing using Naim and B&W 802s?

Hi Andrew, Paul here from Singapore. I love your reviews on many counts. The combination of your voice, charm and content is top notch and thoroughly engaging.

I own a Uniti Atom for me than a year now and it's paired with the Chora 806 which you spoke about. While I find they go well with classical music, jazz and swing, I find the engagement lacking a bit when it comes to music with a heavier bass such as metal, rock or hip hop. As such I'm looking at switching my speakers to a pair from Neat Acoustics Momentum Sx3i or Motive SX3) and I was wondering if you had any views on this. I'm cognisant that Neat speakers may not be well known in the USA but any thoughts would be most welcome.

Can anyone help me with speaker cables. Just bought one on Audiogon. It came with the speaker connectors but no wire. Do I have to find the Naim wire which is hard to find and really expensive. I'm afraid to hook it up now.

Hi Andrew, first time commenter, long time fan. I’m saddened after a rough breakup I’ll be moving into an apartment which means my LS50 Metas won’t be getting the love they’re used to. I refuse to give up music so I turn my ears to headphones.

This is where I seek your council 🙏 Why are there stereo amplifiers and headphone amplifiers? Naim makes the Unity Atom and the Unity Atom Headphone Edition. Every Stereo amp I’ve seen has headphone out so is there really a discernible difference between the two or can you recommend an amp that lets me enjoy my bookshelves and a pair of Focal Clears?

Way too expensive for a mere 40 watt amplifier. User interface may be world class, and the amp may be still be great at 40 watts, but it's still only 40 watts.

40W per channel into 8 ohms is hardly an amplifier. It looks like a jewelry box and I find this unit to be uninspiring.

Is this better than NAD M10 V2? I'm thinking about returning mine as it's rather unstable and I lose connection too often. I'm just worried that 2x40W compared to 2x100W is not enough for my system.

I’m looking at both the Atom and Nova, obviously the Nova is a huge jump in price. Anyone heard both units and can comment if the huge price increase is worth it and justified ? I’m currently using Cyrus system, amp/power amp/CD8SE and the Naim will replace the good but old Cyrus system - thanks in advance

Niche question: I've read that, for the single analog input, the Atom actually converts the analog signal to digital then DACs it back to analog before passing it on to the amplifier stage. (Apparently this is so that it can use the digitized signal do simultaneous multi-room playback from an analog source if you have many naim devices set up in different rooms.) Anyway, I really have no idea if this should make a real difference in vinyl sound quality, but going analog->digital->analog sounds a little funny to me. I'm wondering if you do a lot of vinyl listening with the Atom on your reference vinyl system (with the 2M black) and perceive that the Atom is any worse/lesser for high quality vinyl playback (assuming you have an appropriate phono stage) compared to an amp that treats analog inputs normally? I'm trying to justify the cost of the Atom as my all-in-one for my system which will be gaining a turntable with 2M black cartridge this week, but I might consider a different direction if the Atom's A2D2A processing would be cutting a cartridge as nice as the 2M short!

@andrew Robinson I am been debating endlessly between the Naim Atom vs. M10 v2. I will be pairing with 705 s2. From everything that I have read and seen, the M10 v2 is very good, but does not sound as good as the Naim. Since I haven’t and don’t have a way to hear the M10 v2, which would you prefer?

Im getting a pair of KEF'sL50 Meta and Im between some options of amplifier... Naim Uniti Atom (I love aesthetics and functionality) or Lyngdorf 1120, knowing that KEF's are difficult to move and need power im not sure that 40 W from the Atom is enough power to manage the speakers and at the same time can get the best posible audio quality. In case it can, would it be a good idea to use an external DAC to improve sound quality? My third option is the classic music fidelity M5si but it needs a streamer and maybe a DAC. Would be greatful for some feedback. Thanks!!!

I'm confused, you say it is an integrated amp so you can connect a turn table to it, but there doesn't appear to be a grounding part on the back and I can't find any information that says it has a built in phono stage...

Why is there no mention of the lack of MQA support for Tidal masters? That’s a glaring shortcoming. Thanks
