i'm more adhd then autistic but I have so many autistic traits and my mother just blames it on my ADHD

I am wondering why we refer to it as 'diagnosis' as though these are medical illnesses to be treated?

i have audhd and i ticked all of the boxes lol. i got diagnosed just a few years ago (i'm in my early twenties now) and funny thing is, i USED to think that most people on the internet who says that they have these two are just making stuff up for attention because 1) many people especially teens self diagnosed themselves because apparently autism and adhd are merely "trends" for them 2) i didn't know that adhd symptoms are more apparent in men than in women, which is why most of us are so good at masking (me included). when i first met a psychiatrist i was expecting to be diagnosed with depression only, turns out i have mdd, ocd (which lots of my friends "predicted" lol) and i never expected to be diagnosed with autism or adhd but i did😂

Wow.. you definitely got my interest when you talked about not wanting to talk in a crowd but then being unable to talk. I think the spectrum aspect of Autism this even more difficult to figure out, never mind any other divergences one may have (HSP here).

I’ve gotten to a point, as an auDHDer, where if someone I’m friends with says they’re questioning if they’re autistic or not, I will genuinely say, “well here’s your autism diagnosis; you’re friends with me” due to the fact I have a genuine inability, not by my own choice, to be friends with allistic people

Is anyone also VERY distracted by the reflections of the ring light(s)?! I can’t not focus on it 😅

The racing from one special interest to another was something I could definitely relate to. It's often been with eating plans... Either a new healthy eating plan or a weight loss plan. And every time I would find a new plan or a new supplement or whatever, I would always think that it was the one, life-changing thing that I was always looking for.

I just watched "How my ADHD hides my autism" before watching this one. The one I watched first fully convinced me I have both. Inner conflict? Shoot, I have every inner conflict you talked about in both videos. Could I think of some inner conflict you haven't covered? Yeah, probably. But on a general level, it's always felt like there are 2 me's battling for control. So few things satisfy both, so most of the time, neither one gets what they want. Wow, here I am sounding schizophrenic again. That's been one of my big difficulties, is fully accepting that both "personalities" are me.
