I disagree. My 2020 3.5 will do everything a 5.0 will do better.
And
It will blow the doors off the 5.0 too.
Once ford turbos the 5.0, we can reevaluate.
6.2L is still the king. Other than gas mileage
ОтветитьI can’t hear you over your hands
ОтветитьI have a 2013 f150 with the 5.0 Coyote also it has 232,000 miles I bought it new . Other than the tune up I changed the water pump that's it. It's still running strong. The best truck I ever owned definitely will buy another one!
ОтветитьI bought a 2014 FX4 5.0L with just under 63K miles in early 2022! 2 years and almost another 60K miles later (120K total) and I love this truck more now than when I fell in love with it on the dealer lot. She looks incredible and runs great!!! I've done nothing but regular maintenance (rear brakes and oil changes) and a couple of plate lights! Bone stock when I bought it but now she has some aftermarket goodies as well! She works hard and plays hard and looks damn good doing it!!!
ОтветитьMy 2008 4.6 just passed 444,000 miles.
ОтветитьMy Ford has a 1969 429 runs silent and will not only out last me it will out last 90% of this new junk
ОтветитьJust for knocking around hunting.
ОтветитьHow about buying a 2005 Ford F150 4wd with 195,000 with the 5.4 liter V8 for 10,000.
Ответить5.4. 2 v. 2003 Triton almost 300 thousand miles. Still running Great
ОтветитьI have a beautiful 2015 XLT 5.0 V8 , only 360000k run like new !
ОтветитьI’m surprised he only got 17mpg, I’ve got a f150 super crew 5.0 4wd on 33s. Theres been a couple of road trips where I’ve driven very conservative and gotten 21mpg. Granted the ground was pretty flat majority of the trip. My truck has 173k running strong. Considering buying another 12th gen but a low mile platinum. It’s been a great truck
Ответитьscotty is right ecoboots engines are nothinh with problems is lemon.
ОтветитьScotty Kilmer for President!!!
ОтветитьThinking of buying a 2023 reg cab 4x4 and installing a whipple,on it looking to push 800hp. Anyone have any experience with a 2021-2023
Ответитьi have a 2013 f150 with the 5.0 coyote and i giggle like a school girl when i floor it too hehe
Ответить10 speed def feels weird
ОтветитьI don't agree with you. I have a 2022 with a 5.0 10 speed and it gets about 22 miles per gallon. It pulls my boat and my tractor just fine. I pull 7500 lb with it. It doesn't go through all the gears like you say it does. It gets 17 mpg pulling my 7500 pound trailer. It also has 3 over drive gears.
ОтветитьThe cab corners will rust out before any mechanical problems on that truck
Ответить6 months into owning a 2013 fx4 f150 5.0 got it for $14k with 89k miles couldn’t be happier!
ОтветитьThanks for the breakdown. I bought a 2012 F250 w: the 6L 4x4 6 speed with oem tow package + rear airbags on the first of the year w/ 85k miles. No accidents and in excellent condition for 25k. Can’t wait to tow campers with it in the spring.
ОтветитьGreat video Sir Scotty, thanks eh .
ОтветитьHappy New year Scotty et al........ 😀👍
ОтветитьInternet search shows 10 speed dogs came out in 2017 as a joint venture between Ford and GM? I guess they both wanted an equally crappy transmission... so everybody would go and buy.... a Toyota.
ОтветитьAlways assumed ethanol was worse for gas mileage until a professor told me he ran an experiment and found it was slightly more efficient than conventional gas. Reason being there is water in the ethanol that degrades into steam and gives more "umph"
Either way you are putting water in an engine. All military vehicles run on diesel, even the experimental motorcycles, so they don't have to worry about shifty gasoline. It is only a problem for th ordinary American which the powers that be seem to dislike strongly.
My 1994 2WD F150 has 505,000 miles on it. I've replaced the transmission twice. It won't win races but runs fine.
ОтветитьI need at least a 4x4 for snowy icy Pa. Winter roads
ОтветитьIf it ain't a5.0 it ain't a truck
ОтветитьUnless it’s a 5.4.
Saved 13 mins of your life
I would watch your video in full but those flailing arms.... Good Lord. Contrary to what marketing experts tell you. That's annoying
ОтветитьI bought the exact truck but a 4x4 out of an estate of a passing uncle . It wasn't really my thing, but it has NEVER seen the salt in Ohio so it's a keeper!!!!
ОтветитьI'm a fan of the F150 5.0L. Since you spoke about the 6 speed transmission, do you have any insight to the Lead Frame issue in this generation? Apparently some trannies with a potential lead frame problem with drop down to first gear while driving.
ОтветитьYou talking to much* go straight to the point
ОтветитьGreat Video! Thanks!
ОтветитьThose were damn good trucks! Nice scanner!
ОтветитьScotty. What about the 2007 Ford explorer Trac
ОтветитьGot a ‘04 5.4 3v 2rwd crew cab with 149,567 miles. Bought it brand new w/ less than 100 miles. No major drivetrain issues yet but am concerned about potential cam phaser gears going bad. Is there a diagnostic test to know for sure?
ОтветитьSo is a single cab 2013 5.0 with 40k miles for $25k is good?
ОтветитьSo is a single cab 2013 5.0 with 40k miles for $25k is good?
ОтветитьI came online looking for the location of my high beam relay/fuse as that just blew. Noticing your video even a year old, I watched because I like your videos in general. I drive plenty averaging about 22k annually in my personal F150 and if I buy new, I'll be happy, I'm sure, but at the prices? Not likely.
My 2014 is a 4x4 with the 5L and this engine is a NO BRAINER! My transmission is beginning to show it's abuse, but with nearly 227k on the odometer, that stands to reason.
Aside from general maintenance, I've replaced a starter(176k), a blower motor around 110k, and soon to be, a water pump and lower hose(crappy design). For the mileage involved, I'd argue all of these things, which are wear items, are part of the maintenance anyway.
This has been as reliable as my 7.3L Power Stroke of old and anyone who knows about vehicle engines to speak of will know, those were among the highest rated engines of all time. Quality video on your part again, as you EDUCATE people. Thanks.
Thanks scotty 👍
I took ur advice bought 2012 5.0 6 speed running great Thanks for steering me away for the dodge trap 😊
I'd like you to test my 2013
ОтветитьEASTER EGG ford had stated that e85 on the 5.0 coyote boosted hp to 375 and torque to 390 lb ft
ОтветитьAlways been a GM guy but just ordered a f-150 with the 5.0 , decided that I'm going to install a catch can to avoid the valve crud. Never had too many complaints with the 5.3 GM motor but thought wth I'll try a ford this time.
Ответитьi bought a 04 fx4 about 6 years ago with only 180k miles on it i still drive it and it's at just over 410k now and the only reason i been on the side of the road so far has only been from flat tires lol best 1800 i ever spent 😆
ОтветитьIdk man. I stand behind the ford 3.5 v6
Only failure point they have is the water pump driven by the timing chain
I owned a 1998 F150 with a 5.4L for 14 years, had 235,000 when I sold it. Currently own 2003 F150 supercrew with a 5.4L, 286,000 miles. New intake installed at 275,000, owned for 11 years and counting. Also, own 2005 F150 Supercrew with 5.4L, 98,000 miles. Love Ford trucks and the 5.4L
ОтветитьPs no varible cam timing, 3 valve piece of junk.
ОтветитьGove me a truck woth a 4 speed trany, no 4 wheel, no camera, no computer in every corner, no power seats, no stupid blendair heat dampers, give me points and plugs or cdi ignition any day of the week , the engineers and ceos of these companys imo needs to use thier brain more.if it aint broke dont fix it james, mary.
