Looks about the same as the results we get down here in Florida. Only difference is that some of the exotic trees here have to be pulled out with the roots to prevent regrowth.

2-4-D sounds like a good solution to clear out the weeds that might make your animals sick.  Now I need to research exactly what it is.  In my experience, the bad stuff goes away after 2 seasons of mowing or bush-hogging.  In NW Pennsylvania, our fields always loved a lime treatment.  It used to be available at a discounted price through a government subsidy.  Not sure in the modern era.

I watch all 3 vids. ? Did you consider using some kind of "rake" post mulching to pull out the chunky bits..IE the rocks or larger root pieces. And also a general leveling out of the mulch.
(Hope I explained that right)

How deep does the mulcher go into the ground? How much soil/dirt is this chewing into?
How close do get to the trees you want to keep. In reference to their root system.

Thx
MJ

Very interesting. I particularly like what has been done with the woodland area, I'd think that a little judicious mowing in future will keep the more rampant weeds down and allow the grass etc. to establish now it can get light, air and rain.

Is it safe to mulch down red maple trees in a pasture that will be prepared for horses?

Great videos. Me and my kids are doing a road trip next week and will drive right through Clarksville. I own an HVAC business but im considering starting a forest mulching business. I have arould 1100 acres between my farm and my hunt club and i pay a lot for clearing. Lots more clearing to do over the years. Medium to high density growth around my creeks. Eould love to see my place look as good as yours. Thanks for you videos and knowledge.

What do you think about the diamond disk mulcher been thinking on getting one and basically is more affordable for me than a drum but will like your personal opinion since you are an expert on this. Do you think it will do a good job or should I save up to get a drum

I live in TN and have 3-5 acres I would like to have mulched. However, the land is full of saplings. Can you tell me what happens to the root system of the saplings after the mulching is done?

Great video. I'm a city slicker that purchased 2.5 acres in northern Wisconsin. Looking for advice on some general prices for the mulching job and process. Wondering if I can shoot u an email with pictures of the property?

Thank you for the video, I have one other question. What if you don't want the grass? Can you pine straw on top of the mulching? I have a wooded lot, I'd like to keep some trees, but I don't want any grass.

Great video. Very informative. I'm in central VA looking to Forestry Mulch about 2.5 acres which was cut-over about 6 years ago. The stumps are decaying. The new growth is mostly trees about 5ft tall and briars. When do think is a good time to plant grass following the mulching? If the mulching is done soon, is it too early to plant grass in the fall? Appreciate the help. Thanks, Scott

i had some property mulched , there where some big and thick trees that they mulched down i picked a spot and dug down to see how thick the wood chips where its about 7in thick of mulch maybe more that covers the whole property, i want to grow grass over the whole property, its been about 4 months and it looks the same as the day it was mulched i have about 1 year till im wanting to plant grass then build on it what are my options other than having a guy remove the mulch then compact dirt to build the property back up/ grading ? i do want to save as much as possible but i still want to get the job done right so no other issues come up at a later point. im in texas and it rains hard for 4 months out the year then is over 100F and dry the rest of the year... thank you i could really use your help

What kind of trees was it that you mulched? We are about to have a section of our property mulched, and it is 95% pines. The property is cut over property. The regrowth is all natural, probably about 10 to 15 years of regrowth I would guess. Just wondering how the pine mulch will break down over the next year or so. We are located in central Mississippi. Thanks!
