Can pea shoots be transferred to growing into pea producing plants? I’m so confused about how microgreens can be used…

I am absolutely hopeless at growing stuff, but your micro-green videos have worked beautifully. I'm on my 4th batch and just ordered more containers to have a daily rotation of greens.

Thank you. Would love for you to do a video of the process of growing sprouts and microgreens side by side, from beginning to end.

That's all very well, but shouldn't you call what you called microgreens sprouts and what you called sprouts microgreens? I mean, simply because of a question of the etymology of the words and to frame the definitions in correct academic concepts, it seems to me.

I have never seen anyone grow sprouts like that in a jar. We always grew them like the micro greens.

I never ever pack my jars as tight as that so I know my sprouts rinse really well. I use half gallon jars.

Yes, the danger with sprouts is unwanted bacteria.

Sprouting for years as the primary source of winter greens. Have had zero bacterial or fungal issuesr. It's all in the protocol and equipment. Never over pack my jars in the way you showed and don't overgrow them. Inverted jars are raised above the water collection surface.

Only grow a hand full @ a time
If u do end up growing too much...throw em in some soil & let them go to seed 😉👍

What I got from this video is that sprouts can be more dangerous than microgreens. More detail goes into knowing how to grow sprouts safely. You can always drop sprouts and microgreens in simmering soup or at the end of sauteing for a minute to be safe.

How many days to get to the size of the microgreens in the video?

I used to do sprouts in jars because it was so easy and space saving.........until one day one of the jars was funky. That's when I figured it out and realized what was happening. I stopped and didn't grow like that for a few years until I saw a microgreen tray. Been doing trays ever since because I feel safer using that method.

It was very interesting for me who grew up in a different culture. We make tons of sprouts, never needed a jar and never seen mould with it. We generally give a wash to the seeds. Depending the on seed, we soak them in warm water for few hours. Rinse and spread on a sheet or keep it in a bowl without any additional water. Cover it with damp cotton cloth. It sprouts in a day. Wash again and is ready to eat.I think it is the space saving idea thats the issue here.

My first try with the clear topped brightly colored square sieve growers was a moldy fail. I am trying peas, and may need to add supplemental light for quicker development .

I started growing micro greens and it’s wonderful! The pea shoots are the tastiest. I used to grow it in soil, now I have been using coconut coir. They are so much fun to grow and so many different choices from salad mix to broccoli , cabbage , etc.

I have sprouted for years and know how to without issues. I would never go to microgreens as I find them far less easy to digest, unless maybe really young, and need cooked for me. Sprouts give the best nutrition and enzymes. I like them best when just sprouted.
