My wife ruined the idea of ever Over clocking. I was so proud when I had a solid good over clock. Then tried to show her the difference and she said I was batshit crazy. She made it real logical. So you are running a processor faster than it is factory rated which will most likely shorter the life span by a lot. All for what? 1 second faster porn video loading. Well fml I wasted my time. I am that bastard who just ordered a 7950x and will be most likely playing games a 1 core processor could run. Still nothing like playing Tetris at 5000fps. Where it says max memory 6600OC, does that mean I can grab some ram thats Already 6600mhz ddr5 and put it in and it will work fine?

Having a very hard time finding exactly what want for my next build.

Lets Compare AMD X570 VS B650 and or B650E AM5 Motherboards – explain some major differences included on their IO back plate such as how many USB 3 / 3.1 / 3.2 type A or C, WiFi, - leaving processors and DDR4 along with DDR5 out of it because their simply isn't a massive difference between the two variations at this time that make massive differences at this early stage to DDR5. Also we barely touched the surface on PCIe Gen 5 related too NVME M.2 gen 5 so set that aside too. And doubt we will see any Gen 5 GPU's for 3 years. It also doesn't matter using SATA3 Solid State Drives or NVME M.2 third gen or fourth gen because the speeds are all still quite comparable at present, other then M.2's take up less space and clutter. And the final reason I chose to ask these questions are, 4K is very popular and soon will dominate the market leaving processors irrelivent because even an AMD Ryzen 5600 or Intel 12100 or 12400 paired with an AMD RX6750 and up or NVidia 3080 thru to a 4090 will handle bottleneck problems. So while sponsors push us to buy "NEW" you should share some of this knowledge I shared. Buying new undeveloped products will inevitably leave us at a loss as we continue to see on both Intel and AMD struggle for dominance over one another at our cost.

Per what I have watched AM5 is not worth it until ASUS gets their quality control in place.

I miss the debugging screen on the motherboards. I feel those or at least an led should be included standard. I ended up with the Aorus AX because it was “cheap” at over $300, which used to get RGB and other nice features.

Was building with msi tomahawk boards since I started using ryzen when it was first launched. Giving Gigabyte a try now, investigated and found x670 gaming ax motherboard offers pretty much best bang for your money and have all that you really need with top of the line power delivery and good audio. Got it for 300euro and also got 64gb 6000mhz cl30 DDR5 RAM to go with it for 360euro (one year ago ddr4 3600 cl14 32gb kit was same price, crazy...). Now just waiting to order 7950x3d on Tuesday.

Paul can you give us recommendations of motherboards at different price points? AM5 is quite appealing now since DDR5 has gone down in price. Thinking of upgrading but idk what to buy :/

AM5 platform is dual-channel. The chart 3 minutes into the video states (and Paul repeats) it as quad-channel. That must be an error that he didn't catch.

So AMD announces three chipsets at Ryxen’s launch, one of which sucks (X670), and one of which is not available at launch (B650), and the third one is the ultra high end. Then, along with the lowest end chipset launch in October, quietly come the boards AM5 buyers should probably get: B650E. I’m not saying I pick favorite chipsets, but the B650E boards have everything for which I’m looking, now that I’ve decided Thunderbolt sucks on AMD. I think we got jebaited. I think we got told a nice motherboard would start at $500 so we’d accept $350 when they hit that price. I don’t like it.

I got the Gigabyte x670 Aorus Elite AX, haven’t installed it yet … I’ve read some negative reviews about how the board takes forever to boot up… Now I am all worried and shit, and here’s hoping I don’t have anything to worry about or that a update has come out by now and fixed that… All is welcome to let me know?

Is building a system from scratch today. Coming from dd3 memory level socket, is it better to do am 4 for price saving. Or am5 prices have come down and it's a marginal platform cost now

help. just switched from 9900k 4090 to 7700x am5 6000 ddr5. new install everything, win, chipset everything. all gpu bench is -10%. any games that were cpu bound are better but any and all graphics only are down. any idea? was my msi gaming plus just a better motherboard. my gpu is at full load yet still down 10%. makes no sense. does nvidia play better with intel? confused.

X570 was top of the line X670e is too of the line but doible the price at least. ...AMD just was looking for a way to take the money out of our pocket and to make some people even support their scam with: ah yeah two chipset, E at the end its justified....

Build an "Upgrade into awesome" system. One that will boot and play games, but barely. Then gradually expand it. Kind of like taking a V4 Mustang and upgrading into V-* turbocharged awesomeness. What do you have to buy upfront to give the chassis and bones to build the awesomeness when you have an Allowance style budget.

Going to be building my first system in 20 years. While words like "wow, gigabyte" and "huge" might have some meaning I now cannot discern, at least seeing a bios screen may have been interesting. There is only 1 PCIe 5.0 product on the market. And it's $32,000 and is strictlyfor data centers and render farms. We are just NOW on the cusp of fully utilizing the capabilities of PCIe 4.0 and it'll be 10 years before you'll be able to utilize 5.0 (according to wired magazine). So why invest in features you can't use for 10 years???

odd i see that the elite ax has a memory speed of 6666mhz as a cheaper unit, then the master has a memory speed of 2133, as the master is more expensive.

Lucky boy... Please compare the like-for-like between the extreme motherboard to the base model motherboard with the same components.
