back in 1969 Jim Morrison was talking about what the future of music might be and one thing he said was "...it might rely heavily on electronics, tapes, I can kind of envision maybe one person with a lot of machines, tapes, and electronics set up, singing or speaking and using machines".
that description could apply to a lot of people in the last few decades who made music mostly in their bedroom but i think Kevin Parker is the peak of that since he also did the mixing and mastering himself, along with everything else as well of course. i just love that we are living in a time where its possible for 1 person to do something like this
I imaged a normal living room lmao this wasnt as impressive at all a lot of people do this
ОтветитьNever heard Tame Impala....
ОтветитьCommenting for the algo. Honestly, also just enjoy listening to your voice, very nice tone and probably post recording processing.
ОтветитьI have been binging your videos the past few days and they are immensely helpful!! Love the idea of using what you have to create quality content!
ОтветитьThe CS703 speakers and the NS10 speakers are terrible sounding! Perfect for mixing!
Ответитьgreat video
ОтветитьYour videos are amazing ❤
ОтветитьYou didn't mention the pair of Empirical Labs Distressors that appear in multiple photos ? These are compressors that are commonly used on drums for extreme crush.
Ответить🤰
ОтветитьYou are making me going back to music and leave my tech job
ОтветитьQuality is not a consequence of good or bad music.
ОтветитьJust found this channel. Well done👏 I love hearing about noble decisions to remove one self from a studio to a comfortable home. When relaxation and intentionality is part of the process...its shows. Tame Impala has been such a creative force in indie alt music scene for the past 20 years...being creative with mics and placement and intriguing textures. Simultaneously making approachable but thought provoking music.
Yes...I am a fan because of the music but also the approach to it.
I would love to hear your thoughts on some our live videos we have on our channel.
How Tame Impala Recorded an Album of the Year in a Private Beach Getaway with $250,000 worth of Music Gear and All the Time in the World
Ответитьthis album is like the psychadlics of the Beatles with the crunch of the kinks
ОтветитьWhat a great piece of content! Thanx man!
ОтветитьCommenting for algorithm reasons, cause video was interesting!
ОтветитьI follow you since you have barely 2 thousand followers, excelent video, I needed
ОтветитьCan confirm... There's still no phone service at that house lol
ОтветитьA "LIVING ROOM " AKA a 2 million dollar beach house with $1 millon worth of gear
ОтветитьThe truth is that one can spend all the money one wants on equipment but at the end of the day if one's music is no good (which it most likely isn't) and one doesn't have an innate sense of what sounds good then one is only going to create bad music or at most just a regurgitation of what other bands sound like. It's just like being a writer. Most people who do it are mediocre at best but also have trouble realizing their own state of mediocrity and keep looking for different tricks and techniques while never understanding that they just don't have what it takes and never will.
ОтветитьI built my own DOD Milk box clone which is essentially a little DBX compressor as the guys from DBX worked on that original pedal. That compressor pedal is completely slept on
ОтветитьGreat video!
ОтветитьSo the living room is actually a studio.
Anywhere is actually a studio lol
Dude just had to get cucked.
ОтветитьNever seen this channel before but he's already made vids about some of my favorite musicians lol
ОтветитьRemote beachside house with a beautiful view and over 20k of recording equipment is not thaaat humble in my opinion, but the musicianship, creativity, and quality of his music will be impressive to me no matter what.
ОтветитьI LOVE IT
ОтветитьHe bought that house recently so hopefully the new album will sound like those early albums
ОтветитьThe music industry is currently working on how to stop this🤣
ОтветитьLol wait till he realizes that Rudy van Gelder’s living room was the most desirable recording location in all of jazz
ОтветитьI like it
Ответить"how many people do you think are in in this band" - New Town Hipster
Ответитьyep Im a gear goblin
ОтветитьMy band is currently recording with a zoom hand held
ОтветитьYou are part of the greatest Music revolution. Your videos taught me a lot, about the very best microphones ,worldwide acclaimed in music and cinema industry. 🌟💎💯 We support you🎉
ОтветитьIdk, they still changed location/(what they where used to) ...might aswell have put up some acoustic treatment
ОтветитьDude - love this work so much. Thanks for the brilliant content and passion. The love really comes through. And don’t worry so much about reminding ppl to like and subscribe. We know the drill.
ОтветитьToday, I finally subbed because you present so very well with authenticity from actual experience. The tips on gear and technique are greatly appreciated. Keep up the great work!
Ответить'Essentially a living room' thing is it was full of recording equipment, instruments and in a building originally designed to be a recording studio called Wave House. Not really a living room was it?
Ответить''How i made a video about not me but i show myself all the time?''
(caption idea)
The biggest thing i took from this was that you dont need to as nuch as you think if you know how to use your gear. Seriously interested in those boss 16 track recorders now. Great channel, great content.
ОтветитьWeen did it first
ОтветитьThe bigger monitors are actually Pioneer Cs703s
