My friends account was "hacked" somehow not too long ago, he didnt click on any links, didnt sign into anything, doesnt use same password for anything, 2fa and app authenticator stuff was completely bypassed. somebody legitimately guessed a completely randomized 30 digit password or steam fucked up somehow. none of his other stuff was breached which means that none of his software was the issue, only steam.

I dont why valve doesnt add like a "safe" for your inventory. That guy probably wasnt going to trade/sell those skins for a long time, there should be an option to put an un removable trade lock on an item for an amount of time you decide. Or just add a secondary password field thats unique from your steam password.

if u fall for it its your fault- i fell for a scam too (no not a fishing link) and got scammed for my 2.5k knife . and yes 2.5k isnt 100k but its still his fault

Mir ist es auch einmal passiert ein bajonett doppler phase 3 wurde mir gescammt hatte es grade mal 11 Tage war zu dem zetipunkt 480 euro wert. hatte dann keine skins mehr und hab auch aufgehört mit cs (vor einem jahr ca) seit vorgestern spiel ich wieder und man merkt halt das was fehlt :(

happened to me way back in 2020. got scammed 2k USD by a fake bitskins site. Apparently, upon checking, steam didn't block the account till now. Emailed the support for about 5x already.

Did steam support retrieve the items? The chat history should prove it a scam
