❤️ thank you so much
Ответитьthe myth matters.
ОтветитьWait why wouldn't folk tales or fairy tales be myths? I feel like they totally are
ОтветитьI just came here to say that Freya is the goddess of love AND war. So...she would put Aphrodite through the table in an arm wrestling match. ^_^
ОтветитьWhos here because of Lore Olympus? Nobody? Just me? Okay.
ОтветитьPlease for the love of god add background music.
ОтветитьIs this appropriate for 9 and 10 years old? Anything to look out for or is there an episode to skip?
ОтветитьI hope I don't eat at least 8 spiders in my sleep a year 🤣🇦🇺
ОтветитьFalando nisso meu cartão do ORIGINAL não chega, tendo recorrer ao Judiciário!
ОтветитьThanks for sharing 🙏🏻
ОтветитьMany ancient peoples did not believe mythology to be true but a source of entertainment and societal lessons.
In many ways the comic books or adventure stories of their time.
Myths have cultural foundations for the culture that made them embedded in them.

He hee, Turkish Mythology is the best! Thats it. The grandfather of all mythologies known to mankind!
ОтветитьI've liked the the definition of myth as "story of origins".
Ответитьas a hellenist i really enjoyed this video!!! he was super respectful about myths and the religious ties to them, IM SO EXCITED TO KEEP WATCHING
Ответитьsorry Indiana followed the popular myth of the day and has taken away a woman's right to choose :-(
Love the series by the way!
Hey there,
I viewed the channel intro, so I thought that I'd leave a comment the only place I knew to [here]. What brought me to the Crash Course channel was the inclusion of World History selections in the curriculum of my community-college World History course; however, the reason I'm leaving a comment is that John Green's engaging demeanor in those videos caused me to wonder if the same zest was found throughout the channel's work. The phrase for what I am is a "nontraditional student," which is apt, because even after I dropped out of college, I never lost the drive to learn more about the subjects that interest me, preferably from the work of confident academics who conveyed their own love of their study.
This is the first video I've viewed as "leisure," so to speak--and I love it. The host is marvelous, and his engagement is exactly what I would hope for from a professional mythology buff. So, here I am, long-winded and pondering making a Patreon account, and sincerely grateful that something this educational and--I think--this much a labor of love is on the World Wide Web.
A long-winded thank-you-thank-you-thank-you!

ОтветитьThis was not helpful at all your video is terrible
ОтветитьThis got to be my favorite cc playlist.
Love it especially when he included big bang in mythology. Its so true.
Whats accepted as "the truth" today, is just another myth of tomorrow.
He didn't want to say it but the american dream is a myth, as in not true
ОтветитьWait, wait, wait. Six seeds corresponding to six months of the year. So this myth is from after the invention of the Julian Calendar? There is a reason November and December sound like 9 and 10. There used to be fewer months
ОтветитьThis is really great. I have always loved mythology, known a lot, but never thought that much about what myth is. Your other episodes are brilliant too. I hope you stay with Crash Course forever. You have a great narrative voice, you make the viewer listen and you make great content. Nice work Mike! :)
ОтветитьLOL
ОтветитьPeople often think myths are simply nonexistent, they lack belief of the INVISIBLE WORLD, these BEINGS very much EXIST 🔥
ОтветитьIn the original aka oldest myth Persephone was never raped by Hades... I don’t like how he just goes over the Christian version of the The Raping of Persephone”... He didn’t mention that the myth was changed...
Ответитьtalk about bending over backwards not to insult those who think their myths are true.

ОтветитьImagine... You are driving in a car. You can't stop. But a part breaks... a tire goes flat. You need to fix and replace this tire as you go. Then another breaks. You replace it. You keep driving. The windshield wears down and breaks. You replace it. And after a while... every single part of the car breaks and is replaced over time. Eventually, you are still driving the same car, but every part is different. There are no parts left over from the original car you left in. THAT is Mythology. TRUE STORIES that have been changed little by little, till the original story is lost. Everyone thinks these stories are made up, but they weren't in the beginning. These historical events are so old, so many details changed or forgotten, that no one alive today remembers the truth.

I feel like everyone's here to just know about mythology when I'm here to write a story lol.
