Brilliant video. I want wide stereo chorus when I can have it, but not all live engineers will accommodate a guitarist's aspirations of spatial dominance. So the demo of what happens to the different types of pedals when stereo is summed to mono was exactly what I needed to understand.

Wow that's such a cool feature on the Waza! Do you know if one of the A/B outputs is isolated / phase-reversed and therefore able to simply function likely an ABY splitter to two amps without need for further ABY-type devices?? Thanks!

is there a volume loss with the CE-2W? I had one at one point and every time i ran it in stereo with my stereo rig my volume dropped like crazy. i'd really love to get one again but if that's how it works i'm gonna have to use something different

Sorry for chiming in so late on this...but question for you guys.
First of all...thanks for perhaps the most complete review on this subject as well as a preview on the pedals that you showcase here.
So...I have an original Boss CE-2, that I purchased in 81'. While I love it's tone, I generally don't like the swooshing effect, so I use it with the Rate turn all the way down and the Depth at full.
After watching your video, I was actually ready to purchase all (3) chorus pedals. Instead, I have gone with (2)...the Boss DC-2W and the TC-SCF. The reason for not getting the Boss CE-2W is the core of my question. I'm planning on setting up the pedals with the Boss CE-2 mono out feed into the mono input of the TC-SCF, then stereo out of the TC-SCF to the stereo in of the Boss DC-2W.
My question is...what type of stereo signal can I expect, if any, from the output of the TC-SCF with the CE-2 on and the TC-SCF in bypass. I'm hoping to get some type of stereo expansion from the CE-2 with the TC-SCF providing the separation.
Your thoughts would be appreciated...as the new pedals will be arriving in a few days.

It's interesting that the pedals in the dry signal are isolated only for that Amp/ signal path. All the diagrams online (without a G2/G3) I've seen have the dry effects in the initial signal, prior to the split. This demo hits the sweet spot ✔️ rock'on you pair of lunatics ❤️🏆🤩

Most gigging guitarists will play in mono and sadly, I've never found a stereo chorus pedal that sounds good mono.

My favorite Chorus is an old Ibanez CS-505. It is from the same series as the TS-808. Ibanez: Please do a reissue!!!

hearing stereo chorus with depth and mod all the way down is exactly what I wanted to hear, very cool, I immediatly got a stereo chorus!

Since you are going down the chorus rabbit hole. The Jackson Audio New Wave chorus will replicate all the units on the market. Check it out, it will be your favorite also.

However;
For personal and dear reasons keys-players and vocalists seem to hate it..😅
BUT they all like my more 'subtle chorus'; Keeley 30ms..
Which probably is one of the more 'under-the-radar-pedals'.
An ADT-pedal that is able to sound 'chorusy'.

It has slowly and gradually become an always-on pedal on my board.

Dan, is the TC SCF Gold the same circuit as the original TC SCF? I have an original TC SCF from the 80s. It is great but the effect is subtle really, not as strong as other chorus pedals I would say. Quality level on it is stunning. A great song to use it on is Rush's 'Grace Under Pressure' and 'Red Sector A', some of which used the Gallien Kruger ML250, which may have chorus built into it. I used it back then with my Marshall 2205 amp, man that is loud!

Hi lads, I’ve had the new TC SCF on board for a few gigs and notice that it’s always on preamp adds compression that I’m not keen on, reduces the dynamics of my amp. Put the Corona back on and everything’s good again. Have you noticed this? Thank you.

If you have a two channel amp like a deluxe reverb you can plug the ce-2w stereo channel into the second input and get a similar effect

The Digitech whammy pedal has a wonderful chorus that is overlooked. Not stereo but still. Tough to beat the boss choruses.

@ 7.20 for those wearing headphones, the direct is in the left headphone and the modulated in the right, as opposed to how Dan is hearing sat in front of the amps.

You show a CE-1 but don’t demo it 😂. Is that because it sounds so much better than the stuff you guys sell?

I love that I’ve been watching TPS so long that I have heard you guys explain how chorus works multiple times… and yet I love hearing you explain it again.

I've never liked the CE-2... it sounds very metallic and wobbly and has wet/dry configuration.

Dimension C is pretty good...but lacks depth control as is mentioned.

The best stereo detune effects are Neunaber CHROMA and the old SPX90 rack unit...and all the good digital boards have stereo detune. BOSS GT-1000 for instance - which is my favourite.
The trick is to go with detune instead of chorus. And the old SPX50, SPX90, SPX900 aso have a certain warmth that is just unparallelled. That's why Mike Stern has used it for about 35 years ❤

Put a Compressor after the guitars. Also are you running into the amp directly or thru their effects loops?

I often forget how brilliant the CE-2W sounds.

Needed a Strymon Deco to compete against the Dimension C…. All amazing sounds. Once you go Stereo you can never go back to that thin mono sound.

DC-2W rules them all. What a epic sound!
